Here are your best electric fencing materials that work and perform flawlessly. When we go out to the pastures to set up temporary fencing, we use what works. Buying cheap fencing products that don't last leave a terrible taste in your mouth. When your livestock are not where you left them because of a fencing product failure, it ruins your whole day. One thing I started doing with the braid on the reel is I slip a little piece of heat shrink tubing on the tail end of the braid and go over it with a little torch or heat gun. Stops it from fraying at the end

I'm looking at your broken spool and think you could 'fix' it by using a paper plate and epoxy. Us the plate as a mold, then mix your epoxy, spread it over the plate and reel, then when dry, sand until smooth. You can reinforce the seal between the 'new' part and the old by using super glue and baking soda mixed and applied. I'm thinking that may well work.

Hey I'm buying fence supplies and the only reel available locally is a Speedrite. Also got my first 10,000' of HT wire today, 170k rather than 180k, because I didn't want the 215k and those were my two options. Back to the reels, the Speedrite looks just like a Taragate (and is made in NZ), but it's not a Taragate. You said everyone else's brake sucks, so I'll hold out for a Taragate (pay shipping). But if anyone is using a Speedrite with great success (on an ATV with no brake issues) I'd be glad to know it and might get the locally available one.

And like the label says 13:26 - six stainless conductors and 3 tinned copper conductors. Nine total--mixed metal because the copper is a far better conductor, but also very expensive to use. It doesn't have "9 steel wires".

The closest I will ever get to filling a reel is filling the bobbin on my sewing machine. You are so right about the mess you can create. I have one bobbin that I messed up so badly I never got it properly filled. Its just not worth the time to get the tangled mess off. Is that stinking thinking? Now for the next installment. Grampy drove the wagon full of kids to the train station and they walked along the tracks to the red school house. It wasn't a long walk but they had to cross the railroad bridge and mum was afraid so she would get down on her hands and knees and crawl across it, ending up a lot dirtier than her first grade teacher liked. She felt that the teacher held it again her as the woman hit her with a ruler across her hands every day. Some how that ruler got tossed into the river on the last day of school that year by someone who shall remain nameless. As a side note I attended the same school for four years I used to have nightmares about crossing ihe bridge. The school still had a well for the water supply and two outhouses out back. To be excused you had to put your hand up with one or two fingers displayed so the teacher would have an idea how long you would be out there 😊.as Mum would say enough of that. Have a great day ! I still have lots of mum stories if you are still interested!😘💞🖖🖖🖖🖖👍👍👍👍🛤️🚂🏤

We use slip knots to join up to 4 reels together for long cattle moves, works great. Just untie the slip knots when your done. Always leave your empty geared reel where it ran out, on the ground, opposite from the cattle traffic. This way it is right where you need it when you wind up the numerous reels after your done.
