Do you have someone who will pray will you? Have you thought of going to a Catholic Church and asking if there is a prayer group you can join? Or if they can recommend a parishioner who will pray with you? It would also be a wonderful opportunity to ask a blessing from the priest. You are never alone. Love and prayers.

You may want to see whether you are able to get to one of the places where they celebrate the Mass you remember, which you can find on by searching "latin mass directory". I sing this Mass with my family twice a month at a city near us. There's credo featuring an Incarnatus arranged by my son Dominick DiCarlo, which you can find by searching "video dominick dicarlo credo".

I am 73 years and I too attended a primary boarding school with Our Lady of Sacred Heart Sisters and we sang and said Mass in Latin until the Church did away with the Latin services and replaced it with the English versions. Miss the times then. Bless us all. ❤❤❤

In Croatia, on the sea, there is one island, on that island there is a lake, on that lake there is an island, on that island there is a Benedictine monastery from 13th centrury. Pure romanic achitecture... There I was listening this music. In empty church... I was completly mesmerized.... I still am.... (The name of the island is Mljet)

A former Benedictine, I greatly miss the sung offices of the day and the old mass. Pushing my eightieth year, I still chant Compline in Latin at the close of my day, the perfect end to a day. The Community from my youth still lingers deeply in my heart.

I'm seventy-five and this brings me back to a time when I was a young child in Catholic School and God was brought to my attention. The Latin Mass was a holy experience in my unformed mind.

I attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Long Branch NJ My dad would drive us to school My brother and I always were in church before school started because my dad had to go to work My brother and I would walk 3 blocks to school. The church was Our Lady Star of the Sea also 2 blocks from the ocean. My brother died at 14. Hodgkin. I was 12. He was my protector. I cried often in school. My father also cried and cried and we would go to the cemetery. My dad would plant geraniums. Out of 8 children only Jimmie got Hodgkins. He fainted during graduation practice the hospital was close by. Monmouth Medical Center Then next day he was sent to NYC hospital. May June July August September October November December January February 20 he was taken. He was so thin you couldn’t see his body under the sheets. After he died my father standing in the kitchen told me Jimmie died….I ran back upstairs and took a pair of socks out of Jimmies dresser and took them to my bed and cried and cried. The neighbor in Deal, NJ where we lived were so kind. And my brothers 8th grade teacher was my 8th grade teacher Sr Mary Lucy Sullivan. She helped me through 8th grade to know Jimmie wasn’t in anymore pain. But sadly I was in pain. But not physically. Jimmie Wallace Dec 8 1948 ****February 20 1962

I love this sound. As a tourist I once visited a monastery and the monks were chanting and I watched and listened to them, they’d were oblivious to the tourists, their faces were so peaceful and the singing was so lovely that I could have stayed there all day. A lovely experience.

Back in 1990 and 1991 I went to a camp run by Friar's in Wisconsin. And most of these chants I recognize. Thank you for putting this up! If you're ever struggling with any mental health or spiritual problems, these Chants will protect you and heal your soul.

A "Chant" (repeated over and over) .. has no power in itself to ... "protect you and heal your soul". If such a "chant" is actually an "utterance" of "worship" to the Almighty (in spite of ones inner pain) .. then what healing they receive from that chant is only b/c one has (for a moment) "Come out from the prison of one's "SELF-Life" and the inner pain (in that soul) .. and has offered up worship to Him (realizing that HE ALONE is the source for their "healing" (as you say) ). It is Almighty God, and His Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) who alone bring real "healing" ... EVEN healing of "inner pain" .. (IN THE INMOST SOUL). And this, ONLY when one accepts forgiveness from Him and true (New Covenant) grace due to the finished work of Christ at the Cross. The chants, and their "worship", only help one to align their heart to Him ... and from that "forgiveness" and relationship (w/ Him), do they then experience REAL PEACE ... aka ... .... "Peace I leave with you, my peace, I GIVE to you, NOT as the World gives, do I give you to, .. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27)

@@marksilva2929 - Thankyou Mark .. for your nasty comments. I will not return the favor. But you don't even know me nor my history, what I "know" and what I "don't know". And what I have shared here comes from God's Word (the Bible, including the Catholic one) and is to clarify where "inner healing" comes from, ... for every reader, not just you. It is NOT the "chants" that protect and/or heal a sincere believer. It is the Holy Spirit of God that does, and there is plenty of scripture to attest to this. The chants (if sung in a spirit of "worship", heightens one's awareness to His presence, love and care for them (Psalm 22:3) ). God bless.

Its not often that folks attest to the worship of our Savior and our great God w/ a post like you posted (above). Personally I appreciated it ... and "underneath it all" I believe you brought glory to Him. These chants, .. if sung from a worshipful heart, .. not only "lift Him up" but (unexpectedly) bring "Edification" and (yes) even inner healing back on us. Praise Be to Him. And thank you. God bless.

Here is how Jesus taught us to pray: Our Father Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. AMEN. Gosto de rezar o rosario ouvindo hinos gregoriano, enquanto isso vou meditando as vezes de olhos fechados e sinto como se estivesse rezando na igreja próximo do altar e sinto muita paz. Amo esses hinos ❤ para você que as vezes está sentindo triste coloque ouça de joelho e de olhos fechados ou simplesmente deitado de barriga para baixo e olhos fechados ouça e pense que você é a filha ou filho mais amado de Deus ...graça e paz a você que leu meu comentário e que o divino Espírito Santo ilumine sua vida.🙏

Perfeito, concordo com tudo, exceto essa ideia de "filho(a) mais amado de Deus", que cheira à protestantismo. Até os santos (como São Francisco de Assis) pensavam "sou o maior dos pecadores", é altamente improvável que alguém hoje seja mais santo e virtuoso do que eles. "Ó Deus, tem piedade de mim, que sou pecador! " (S. Lc, 18, 13)

Essa ideia de que "você é o(a) filho(a) mais amado(a) de Deus" é o que pregava a doutrina de Lutero. Que os pecados não importavam para a Salvação, somente o sentimento de confiança de que, apesar dos pecados, Deus salvaria aos que n'Ele tivessem fé. Mas isso é falso, uma falsa tranquilidade como a do passageiro do titanic que ouve alguém dizer "tudo vai ficar bem. O barco não vai afundar." O pecado mortal priva-te da comunhão com Deus (está voluntariamente afastado do amor de Deus), portanto você se condena ao Inferno eterno, às fornalhas ardentes, tormento que nunca cessa. Se não for feito o jejum e a penitência para a mortificação da carne, dificilmente o fiel se salva dos tormentos infernais que Nossa Senhora revelou em Fátima.

O que citei é para pensar que somos filhos amados por Deus. I São João, 4 Bíblia Ave Maria 14 E nós vimos e testemunhamos que o Pai enviou seu Filho como Salvador do mundo. 15 Todo aquele que proclama que Jesus é o Filho de Deus, Deus permanece nele e ele em Deus. 16 Nós conhecemos e cremos no amor que Deus tem para conosco. Deus é amor, e quem permanece no amor permanece em Deus e Deus nele. Portanto eu creio no amor de Deus por mim e penso sim que sou amada por Deus. These are the chants of the Traditional Sung Latin Mass= Kyrie Eleison (Lord have mercy), Gloria (glory to G_d in the Highest), Sanctus (Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord) , Credo ( I believe) , Agnus Dei (Lamb of G_d) , which is being removed/opposed /suppresssed by those in posición. Please pray for the Traditional Latin Mass and the priests and laity who attends🙏😇

Sitting in a Cathedral and listening to the organ playing in the back ground before service was always comforting to me. I remembered as a child how I would watch for the sunlight to come through the stained glass windows and the reflections of the colors was a sign that the Lord was letting me know that I need not fear, for he is with me. 😔

My soul when listening to this chant immediately find peace, calm and fulfilled. What amazing heavenly chant, I read a Saint taught us that Angel choirs are chanting similar Gregorian melody to praise God every second in Heaven

Which can still be sung as part of the Novus Ordo. The unfortunate part is that nobody, religious or secular seems to be taught how to read Neumes, which puts the entire Liber Usualis out of reach.

@@Allwillbeone0 The Liber Usualis is the official hymnbook of the Catholic Church. Prior to what we now know as staff notation, western music was written in neumes. Neumes and the Liber Usualis are commonly associated with the Tridentine Rite of the Mass. Vatican 2 established the Novus Ordo Rite and with it, an unfortunate push-back against most things Latin and the Liber Usualis. Because of this push-back, congregations and musicians within those congregations stopped learning how to read neumes and these days, it is very difficult to find people who can.

I listen to many different Gregorian Chants while I am praying the Rosary in the background. This is so beautiful . It reminds me of a trip I took to Assisi in Italy almost 20 years ago. It starts my day so peaceful and joyful. Thank you for wonderful chants

I consider myself an atheist, however I do freely admit the possibility that I could be wrong. In saying that, I did grow up in an Irish Catholic home and in fact spent a number of years as an alter boy in our local Franciscan Church ( sadly now closed ). The one and only thing I will ever miss about those days is listening to the chanting. Once a week myself and a few of the other boys would come into the church for an hour or two to help with decorations, cleaning or prep work for events etc.. during that time the all male choir would be in practice, chanting and singing, and the sound was just soul tearing. No matter what anyone says, no matter their race or religion, I defy them to hear this and not be moved by it. I have seen video's here on youtube of people from different faiths crying as they listen to Gregorian Chant. Even though their faith is different they can easily feel the purity of emotion and reverence this music evokes. I do not believe in god but I do believe in hope, and this music gives me hope.

I had a friend suffering from some kind of demonic obsession, oppression, or possession...(I tried to get him help through a priest but my efforts sadly fell on deaf ears) the only way my friend could sleep at all was by listening Gregorian Chant continuously all night.

Really, the only way my friend could get any sleep was Gregorian Chant! ...and thankfully for him, it was right at the time that "Chant" had just become popular, and so he just happened on what would actually work, but of course what he really needed was an exorcism ( I believed he was dealing with demons when I saw his eyes, roll back in his head...) but from what I could tell the priest, met with him, but would just not, go there...like would not even consider getting him an exorcism...maybe because it is a very liberal diocese...idk?🕯

The Missionary Sisters of Charity instructed me to have Gregorian Chant played while my husband was in hospice. I did so. I know he died a happy death as a priest friend said he was well ready to go to God. May we all be ready when God calls us.

El canto gregoriano es una música celestial para orar y alabar a Dios. Lo canté de niño en la Escolanía del Valle de los Caidos y es el mejor recuerdo que tengo de allí.
