I danced in a three shows with Gregory! Honi Coles and The Judge at Alice Tully Hall; Tap Extravaganza; and his one man show at Brooklyn College. I also trained with him at Woodpeckers tap studio in NYC. Thanks for posting this, it's a real important VIDEO!

You know when you see another man dancing next to the likes of someone like M. Baryshnikov & your eyes keep falling on the man who is NOT Baryshnikov that you're watching a very rare beautiful talent. Hines was so fluid, rhythmic & graceful it's as if there's nothing inside his trouser pants but a raging wind & he left his legs at home. What a wonderful recording of this Master Class & a gift for any dancer out there. Thanks for sharing!

Gregory Hines is a Master. Charmer. An artist. I want to see more opportunities for the ladies although it's 1999. Thank you for the daring taps of Michelle Dorrance.

As a beginner tapper, I was watching this and obviously everyone is advanced but when that young woman in the red started tapping I thought omg, are they all like that?!! Then from your comment and some googling I learned it was Michelle Dorrance, who is obviously a singular talent, and that made me feel a little better, hahaha! Wow! And Gregory Hines....incredible!

Thank you! That was me back when I was 17 with a crappy camera that I had to hold the tape door closed with one finger which is why if gets really fuzzy and then it clicks back to being clear.. that means I pushed the tape door closed. lol Now I still film, edit and produce 17 years later lol. I love to with tears in my eyes Gregory but where are the black people I only seen one black person the way in the back I'm not trying to be disrespectful to anybody but why all the black people all the way in the back? Why is that who sell me look to the right of the screen
@tapmaan61504 ай бұрын
I think that's because a white person arranged the get together and our black community does not respect our Tap Dance legends. All the people in that room do😢
@kiasky13 ай бұрын
@@tapmaan6150Lies, Black people do respect to art of tap. We created it.
