i saw this show 30 years ago and waited by the stage door for Mr. Hines to sign my program. sure am lucky.

An amazing talent, gone way too soon. He so deserved this award. I was just mesmerized watching him when I was young.

My all time favorite performer. Saw him in JLJ 4 times on Broadway. The best.

Not one thank you to his brother? Everyone else in his family but not his brother who was equally talented and whom he shared much with. Strange...........

And his brother, Maurice replaced him in the tour of Jelly's Last Jam with most of the original cast! He was excellent!

He and his brother were not on speaking term. I had gotten the impression that his brother was jealous of him bc producers preferred Gregory perhaps bc he was more more talented and more handsome. He had more charisma.
