It’s probably way late replying to your comment, maybe someone will happen upon it and it will help - but I agree. I found this video looking for a teaching on faith. I’ve never listened to this guy before, but he’s completely off. From the beginning of his sermon, I raised my eyebrow a few times. His exegesis is poor, his interpretation of how the spirit moves in us and the world is inaccurate. The word conviction is not only meant to “convince”. We do not speak the Holy Spirit into action. Look at Paul the apostle. Where did he “speak” the Holy Spirit into action? Christ stopped him in his tracks, turned him around, blinded him to the world, and opened his eyes to see the path he laid out for him. Paul did not speak the Holy Spirit into his life, it was placed in him, by God, for one reason and one reason only. It is the same reason any of us have the Holy Spirit in us and upon us. It is for the glory of God and the advancement of his kingdom.

@@gregwetz9373 I really love the first half of your comment. "Convict the world of sin" means " to reprove it or show it to be wrong; to condemn it", that's why when you sin, you feel guilt. It is after you respond to the Spirit's conviction that you will be convinced by the Spirit.
