Eagle-eyed viewers out there will have noticed that the navigator's windows are hiding under a layer of paint. My idea was to use a circle guide and fine pen to draw these on later. When done correctly this looks very good. But as I got closer to the end of the build, I lost the will to tackle this, sorry. The nose door strut is still hiding somewhere; will hoover him up this weekend, no doubt.
I've taken the final photos from my phone to see what they turn out like, so much easier, but please do let me know whether photos or the walkaround is better.

As a life time modeller myself, I love it when a modeller see’s a reference image (Skybolts) and works out how to make it happen! That’s really what modelling is about. You nailed that and can pretty much guarantee that there won’t be many other Skybolt loaded Vulcan builds appearing on the www over the next few months.👏🏻

Wholehearted agree. People who fret too much about kitbashing are over thinking it. If it looks great and is representative it's always well worth it, and as you say it's unique to your model.

Ant flash white airframe, brings back memories of my teenage years in Lincolnshire. Great presentation as usual, it looks a great kit. Scratch built skybolts, I bet they didn't take as long to make as filling and rescribing the previous Airfix Vulcan!

Pleasure to watch this Vulcan come together , as far as I'm aware the sky bolt missiles were never operational on the vulcan & the tests were done with concrete filled shell's to original weight spec which didn't affect the aircrafts handling one bit , pilots said no appreciable affects to flight characteristics whatsoever , a very nice model representing a moment in history.

Great result, love to see the Skybolt Vulcan. One thing you did miss which is pretty important for XH537 is that she actually had Vulcan B1 intakes (narrow ones), which were on all Vulcan B2s built up to and including XH556. These would be a pretty challenging modification but I think it could be done (I was thinking about trying it myself for a different airframe)

Lovely build Greg, you have achieved a great white finish, not easy to do. I too, like to separate all parts first - I don't like the clean up part of modeling so get it out of the way first. I put each sub assembly into separate containers though, not one big box. Also pencil the part number onto any bits that may be easily mixed up later.

Superb skills, not sure about taking all those bits of the sprue though. I find if you turn your air pressure down with tamiya acrylics you get a smoother finish. I think the paint is prone to drying a bit . I go down to 10psi. I think I'm right in saying that on the way to a Red Flag Bombing competition one of the Vulcans did a dummy bomb run on New York.
