On December 5, 2019 they had a screening of "Gremlins" at the famous Hollywood TCL Chinese Theaters---actress Frances Lee McCain, who played the mother, Lynn Peltzer was appearing in person at the screening. After the movie was over, she did a Q&A session with the audience, it was quite enjoyable.
However, the picture is not that great because it was a dark theater---at some of these Q&A sessions they turn the spotlight on the people during the session---that helps a lot (at least in my camera) to get a much better picture----but also at some of these sessions they don't have the light shined on people taking part in the discussion---and the result is a rather crummy and dark picture like this unfortunately! I don't know if there is a setting on my camera that can take better video in the dark...if there is, I certainly don't know how to activate that feature since I am NOT a technical kid of guy---- today's technology for some reason is SO difficult for me to grasp---which is one of the main reasons I have an old-school cellphone from 2007 rather than a smartphone which pretty much everyone has today! lol
But the audio came out well and is quite clear, so I guess that is the most important thing----so the picture being dark and crummy is bearable----I'd say if the picture came out nice but the audio came out soft and distorted, that would be MUCH worse! lol
At approximately the 8:10 mark of the video, McCain reads a text that Zach Galligan sent to her to convey to the audience since he couldn't be there----She said she really wished he could have joined her, because she feels he is a much better storyteller than she is (I agree with that, you should have seen the memorable 5 hour livestream Q&A session that Zach did on Twitch on December 22nd of last year, where he shared TONS of stories...) -----but since I live and breathe these films, I was able to chime in a couple of times about certain things, to which McCain complimented me saying that I am an encyclopedia of this film and that maybe she didn't need Zach after all! LOL
A very lovely woman and a very fun night indeed!
