I wish Grendel had another album like this one. Their other albums aren't bad, but this one is several orders of magnitude better than any of them. At least in my not at all humble and extremely conceited opinion.

Although we can break down our whole into its parts, this does not mean we are worthless or without value. We can achieve much in this life and we should. Regardless of a faith position, this is so. There's no reason why we shouldn't understand our parts, how they create the whole; arguing that because a thing can be reduced to its simpler functions, or components it is worthless and valueless is shallow, and shortsighted.

@@KillTheFace55 Indeed. It also misses the notion of 'the whole is larger than the sum of its parts'. You can engineer a bunch of cells and stick them together in Frankenstein-ish manner, but that doesn't mean you created a human being. So far technology has allowed us to create 3D brain models from stem cells - where they resemble basic neural anatomy (meaning the neurons differentiate into their final form similar to a real brain - deep cells, cortex, etc) but even then, it is a guess at worst, and a model at best.

This stuff makes me think of screamy shitty metal compared to varieties of metal like playing the guitar well, or having a good singer, are actually part of a band. Electronic IMO is better without vocals, without exception that I've found, and when you take the vocals and make them unintelligible... Just ugh. I would listen to the fuck out of this without the awful vocals. You could even leave the background vocals, the chick talking and such. Just no singing. Especially awful singing.
