Actually, if men have been doing something you think is wrong, then you shouldn't do it. Because it is wrong. Men are not some other species. They are our lovers, brothers, and fathers. The people closer to us then any others. Remember?

I love it when she talks about being a director with an actor's point of view and approaching her actors with empathy. I think in any job where you must work with people, in order to truly be successful, and work well with others, you must have empathy. She is so emotionally intelligent as well as intellectually intelligent. It is refreshing in Hollywood.

She didn't quite name it, but she talks about the beginnings of transness that were conceptualized through Jo and Laurie. And that Jo's longing to be a boy could very well be instigated by the misogyny of Alcott's time, yet Laurie wanted belonging with the March sisters as a sister himself.
