Interestingly enough he did the same thing with Ventress an episode prior. Where he sent her to retrieve Gunray as a test to see if she was still worthy after all her previous failures. This is just an arc of Dooku testing his minions.

when outnumbered, with Kenobi in ep3, a ton of times in the complete video. U can say tactically retreat and I agree that it would also be dumb to just stay in an unwinnable fight

@metanerdzclips that is exactly my point. He engaged in the fight and if the odds turn againsted him he retreats. Just like many of the Jedi have done. To fight a war you must be tactically intelligent.
