At 42 I decided to grow my gray hair out. Spent two years growing it out. Let one negative comment get to me and I dyed it. Immediately regretted it. I am now 45 and starting again. I’m three weeks in! Here’s to a second journey! I really recommend toppers if you need to disguise it or go to event. It’s like a half wig you put on the top of your head. They work great.

You are a beautiful lady. Your hair looks just like mine; same length and color and hair growth. I recently decided I wanted to start the process of removing the brown and matching the ends to the root growth. I took the plunge and right now my brown hair has been replaced with a toned down blond. My next salon visit my stylist will start the blending process so it will eventually all be gray. I like the result so far but it has cost me a fortune. So far, about $1000. I do feel somewhat disappointed that I didn’t go the distance and let my gray grow out, but felt it would take another year or more. I got impatient like so many people do. So, consider yourself one of the few waiting it out. You should feel proud. You have a very pretty, young looking face so hang with it. I wish you long, flowing, silver-gray hair. 🤗

I'm only at 16 weeks and feeling envious. Your grey hair is so pretty. Looking forward to my hair being at a length where I can layer it and remove most of the brown. I'm not there yet. I currently wear it in a chin length bob.

It's been 2 years for me. February 2020 was my last appointment to color my hair. After about a year I whacked off 80% of my colored hair and now my hair is approximately 6 to 8 in pass my shoulders. I have to say that I really wanted to keep the long hair but it was making me crazy because I was so impatient. Now all the growth I have is all gray and it feels so much better. I have people telling me all the time how lovely it is because it's three or four different colors. I have my grays I have some black hair my mother was red-haired so I have some red as well and some blonde. But mostly Gray. Be patient with yourself you're going to notice a huge difference in the way your hair feels once it gets to your shoulders. One more year. I guarantee you'll be happy.

a little late here, 1st of all, you look great, you have gorgeous eyes & a beautiful canvas, I'm 62 & not there yet, I one day would like to stop dying my hair, I would save a lot of $$, but I'm simply just not ready yet! I always say, if I'm going to do this, I would cut it short first, than grow out the gray, but I really don't like short hair on me, I have no patience at all, TY for posting your video!

I also had long hair when I stared growing it out. In a few weeks, it will be two years since I stopped coloring it. I got it cut in a long shag a couple of months ago; and now between the layers and the fading of the dyed hair, it looks like all the dye is gone even though I know a little is still on the ends. Now I'm going to grow it long again. I also thought it would be four years to grow out, and it probably will be that long until I get it as long as it was, but at least growing out the color is done. Your hair is going to look great when you're finished and will be much healthier.

Hallo from nearly 3 months growing. I'm only about 1 inch out, but looking forward to summer when hopefully I'll at least have a distinct silver crown around the top of my head. I'm constantly amazed at the beauty of the silver coming out for me, and for everyone else. The silver hair looks so much better than our dyed portions. Bet you'd look great with a shag cut, no need to have the fringe/bangs they often give with the cut. X

I wanted to encourage you that your hair grows fast! Mine is not even at the level of my eyes. 😀

You should go ahead and cut it to a chin length bob then you won't have long to go! Or if you don't want to go that short cut it to your shoulders. Then you can grow it out long and keep cutting the gray off as you go. I started my gray journey a couple of years ago and I love my gray, sometimes I miss my brown hair but I will never go back, hate chasing that gray line and having to dye it and also it saves money! Mine is shoulder length to end of shoulders now all gray and I think I'm going to grow it out even longer. :)

March 30, 2022--- Nine days after the last coloring. I'm seeing the little gray hairs returning, lol!! I had previously gone six months without dye, freaked, then re-colored. I'm going through with growing out the gray NOW. I've been coloring my hair with boxed products since I was 41. Now I'm 52. It might not take too long to be all gray!! My hair is to the bottom of my neck right now.

I think he would look so much better with your haircut so it was only grey in a short pixie cut at the moment. It just looks neglected.

I would definitly cut a piece, but thats me! Suggestion: maby you should prepare a bit more your video to tell something...!🤔

It looks really pretty! Did you find that your hair was getting too dry with the dye? Did you have less hair loss also? I'm about at 4 month mark and those are my big issues.

I have been dye free for 3 years I only have 2 inches of dyed hair at the bottom of my past shoulder length I woukd say the first year and a, half was most difficult so many times I nearly gave into the dye again so glad I didnt........ stick with it

Next month it’s for me one year, I lose my patience but going through with it, I just don’t want to cut it short and have to bite through it, I went to the hair dresser and she said she want to blend it in, it was horrible and now I use purple hair mask and purple shampoo, I had my hair blonde so it blend in better as the hairdresser did, I payed $165 for a lousy hair job, never again, I cut my hair my self again and with the products I have now, I can do it.

The easiest way is to cut it off- that’s what I did.

Being that you'll be cutting off the dyed ends anyways to get rid of the old color,,, you could just have the ends dyed grey, to match your new growth. Not to touch the new growth....Just a suggestion. You probably have way more patience than I do, to wait.

Nice grey. One big advice to you. There is no design or life in it. You have to trim it in a shape. You will have a total different feeling. 2 weeks ago I let my long hair cut to shoulder length and I feel amazing. Now I’m going to start the transition to grey. You are making a mistake by not giving your hair shape. Like this you feel stuck. Long hair has no use without layers etc.
