I’ll be 60 in December. I’m so happy to hit this milestone! I started bleaching my hair to a level 10 to 12 blonde in 8th grade (am naturally a 7). My hair is fine so I could never grow it to even my shoulders because it would break off. I stopped bleaching in 2013. My hair is so full, luscious and long now! It’s halfway down my back! I still use a blow dryer and curling irons and a flat iron too. I love my gray hair. It’s gorgeous and have had people tell me that. I look younger now than with the fake color. My hair color goes with my coloring because it’s natural. Your hair is beautiful and it’s going to keep getting even more gorgeous as the dyed areas grow out. It’s very striking. I hope some ladies out there listen to us because it really is so freeing.

First of all, I would like to say you look sooooooooo beautiful!!! I am almost 70. I have been transitioning to silver for about 2 years- I regret that I didn't attempt to transition years ago. I have for the most part of my life had long hair. I cut my hair several times to remove the dyed sections and in the process went to a medium length. It is now at my shoulders and silver white in some areas and dark steel grey in the back.. It was a great relief to be rid of the dyed sections of hair and was in fact felt like a spiritual cleansing , but unfortunately now I feel naked without my long hair and can hardly wait to grow it back. Thank you for your input. I won't feel bad about having one cigarrette and a shot of tequila every day to celebrate this transition!!!!

I have been free from coloring for close to fourteen years...now at 70 I still have my natural brown but my gray has been also natural looking almost like it's streaked purposely. I have more grey underneath than on top but I have embraced it and actually love my hair which I have been growing longer since 2020. Seventy or not I am not intimidated by my longer hair or my gray....I have been blessed and grateful for what I have🙏

I'm 45 & have been dying my roots for over 10 years & getting real tired of it. Like you said, so much energy wasted around the timing of it to get the most out of it. My fear is that it will age me a bit and I even hate that thought, like looking older is a sin or something. I'm still me. And you're right,no one really cares & it's comical when they do!
@mysocalledreality
@mysocalledreality Жыл бұрын
Hello! Honestly, do it sooner versus later because if you’re 45 and you let it go gray, you literally are not gonna age for the next 50 years …that’s the thing I think when you wait too long and now your face is all old and then you let the gray hair go out then it’s like a double whammy you really do feel old… I think if you let your hair go first, then you’re kinda growing into it and staying the ‘same’ for a much longer you will not look like you aging.. because your hair was grey 15 years before all your friends.. and they will look and feel much older when/if they do it later… thank you watching and sharing it truly helps other women! ✨❤️🙏🏼

The only person who told me not to go gray was a coworker who is obsessed with anti aging. She's always asking me what skincare I use. And always comes to me to ask about certain skincare she's considering trying because I'm pretty well informed about skincare. I recognize that she's projecting her fear of aging onto me. I'm 2 yrs into my transition, and so far, i have no regrets.

@@mysocalledreality YES!!! that's exactly how it feels- like waking up from an illusion. I also agree with what you said in this video- that the dyed hair would look flat and dull after a little while, and sometimes in pictures it looked absolutely fake no matter HOW much you spent on it. ✨🤗Yay! Welcome to the Hair Revolution Party! Right?! It cannot be unseen ..once that light switch flipped on it was over ..with dark hair.. I didn’t even understand hair dimension till recently and now I could never afford to pay to get my natural hair pattern. I was just looking at pictures and videos from 2019 and am blown away at how terrible my hair looked.. I was loosing so much.. I only washed and styled when absolutely ‘needed’ for fear of more fallout. You nailed it ..It IS breathing again!.. and wait until you reach the 12 month mark and scalp is totally healed and there is finally no more itching! Only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner! I'm sitting here drinking my morning coffee in another country and I just so happen to be transitioning to grey hair and your video made me laugh and smile and I want to thank you for that! I too want to become like 104 or even dare I say 110. I had a great aunt that lived until 108, so I think it is possible. She never married though, lol. I am like not even a full year in to the transition and so much of what you said has resonated with me, especially the part about being freed from jail lol. For so long I was prisoner of this damn dyeing and I never imagined how free I would feel. The roots were like a reminder of how I was trying to hold on to this image of a younger self. I am free of that younger self finally and like you said nobody cares. It is so liberating. The ones that do, like you said can be edited out or evaluated and keep a polite but safe distance. I just realised soon I will need to change my avatar to a salt and pepper gal. Thank you for making me smile and I do not know how the algorithm works but I am happy they decided to present me with your video this am. Best Wishes! A.M.

@lr1732 Жыл бұрын
@@ruthier2699 I hardly ever wash my hair (I would only wash it before putting the henna on so it would grab to my hair) so it took longer than most to fade out; but yes, eventually it did. And thank goodness my grey is coming in more like highlights so that is a good thing.🙂

I got full highlights put in my brown dyed hair...now, no demarcation line. I cut it to my chin, too. Grey hair is blended in the blond. Everyone was like WOW! Gotten tons of compliments. Women at work who are SCARED to let go of that ugly dark hair are now my biggest fans. I'm so excited about my new freedom..no more dye. All I focus on is good shampoos for toning.

Ha! I don’t think that was me but I do remember reading that recently. I was a little hesitant about the long hair but that is really the only style I like on my body type.. and I actually got a few ‘goal’ pictures of long grey hair models that I keep to keep me motivated. It is your reality and no one really cares like you might assume. However they will see the blowup from your relief and it will be magnificently magnetic! I came across your video while searching for how to transition to gray. I recently (3 months ago )decided to stop dying my hair. I’m 50 years young and I felt it was time for me to do it. I did feel a bit scared until I watched your video. I have very long hair pass my waist and I refuse to cut it for personal reasons. I do trim it though. I saw how beautiful your hair looks and it gave me the courage I needed. Thank you so much 😊

I have no regrets and even wish I would have done it a couple years ago so my hair would be done! Ha! It truly gets healthier and fuller everyday. @@hotmedic81401✨ I use the Kerastase purple shampoo and I mix it in with my shampoo. I also did highlights in the front to start and would use it to manage them when they looked brassy. Overall all I have only bought one bottle a year ago and still have most of it.. it might be a little different this summer with the sun and having more grey on top and it might yellow a little more which I will use the purple more.. but we will see.. Beth at Infinite Garden just did an awesome video on purple shampoos on her channel.. if you want a great breakdown check her out!.. less is more at the beginning .. I would focus on a healthy scalp…with some apple cider vinegar soaks.. I have a video on that I think it’s called something like ‘Going grey now what #starthere’ super happy for you and sending you so much love love love..✨❤️🙏🏼

Well, it is a bit like a box of chocolates in regards to the hair color patterns that reveal themselves and so I definitely understand your frustration. I didn’t really get a good idea of what was underneath for many months which can feel so long! You can always add in some pops of lowlights to give it dimension and fun..without having to color your whole head. but for you dear Love it is whatever makes you feel comfortable and feel good in your body… and if that is coloring it the second you are able then I say DO IT! One thing at a time and maybe just making sure we get that body back online is a better focus at the moment.. the hair can be next time around! I am sending love that you do feel better soon. I appreciate you watching and for leaving a comment! We all need a place to vent sometimes… thank you for being ✨❤️🙏🏼

When the Inner Circle sign turns into the Do Not Enter sign! Those are the sacrifices of going natural and growing real. It was always there it was just revealed and accepted this time. And everyone is probably better off in the long run. That would probably be one of the biggest pieces of advice I would give my younger self… is to not be afraid to audit your circle of ‘friends’ and surround yourself with people who have their own shit going on and still know how to support you in a real way. Thank you for watching and sharing your experience. ✨❤️🙏🏼

I'm 39. Only grey around my temples and a streak in the front and I'm letting it grow out. I just want to love on my natural hair....keep it trimmed at the ends, conditioned, let it whip in the wind like a mermaid while riding dolphins with my tits out. Whatever! I live me more than I ever did in my younger years. I'm not living for other people. I'm living for me.
