ok i have a theory: as well all know, alex has left so the space for mer's person is open, either they're gonna have a storyline about mer's independence and 'i aint need no man' (? or around that sort of thing) or maggie and amelia will fill in (i really don't want them too tho cause i just never clicked with them), deluca will fill in oddly or lastly jackson will be the person BUT i think he'll only be used as mer's person to give him more emotional value since he's not as good as he was before with april (in my opinion) and then he'll die bc lets be honest, he doesn't really have as much screen time, or it feels like he does but not really (seem familiar...007), i really like jackson an i don't and i dont want him to die but... related to jackson: he's gonna die mostly bc i feel like richard was supposed to die but alex left so they didn't burden us more, but they can't keep giving use death scares with richard so they'll prob stop for a few seasons and in that time, jackson will die to take richard's place idk if this all make sense
