VC funding in a nutshell: forget it if your team does not have 25+ years of experience and a few hit games or big companies in your portfolio to reference your history, long small industry history does not matter.. NO ONE will invest into new companies with people new to industry even with massive talent in production / business ideas unless they proof their their vision with their own data and solid traction and that means a game in soft launch and pretty much ready for the market.. and thats the biggest issue many fail to get to before they go broke or cant muster the resources to proof the market fit. Its all about reducing risks so if your new to the industry and even if you have everything clicking right its often not enough unless you can get big names to back you up who have the track record to proof the investment has potential and the risks are lowered as much as possible. It would be great to hear stories from people new to the industry who have managed to secure investment in a few years after establishing a studio with no prior experience and massive names behind them and see how they managed to do that.. I think there has not been many teams or companies like that since 2017 in the mobile space.. might be a seriously worthy topic for an episode!
