At this point, I would be more disappointed and sad for Meredith if she didn’t move. Just let it end, she’s practically begging to leave.

@@junbh2 She did leave. Richard kept running after her and it’s hard to give up on the one thing you devoted your life to. Could have ended there but no, he had to cheat while she was unwell. She’s hardly the one to blame.

Seattle has become a prison to Mer. She's stuck there. She has to leave, should've been sooner, if you ask me. She will forever be tormented of the memories of the people she loved and lost. So many years have passed since Derek died and yet she hadn't truly moved on. She had to see her dead husband and loved ones again before she realizes that she needs to go.

Meredith deserves whatever her heart desires, she been thru more lost and heartache then anyone else in the show , I'm happy for her , I love her like she my own mother I been a true fan since March 27th 2005 I love this show and I'm glad she finally happy.

The place isn't haunted with sad memories, it's fucking cursed! Almost every main doctor there has either died, gotten seriously injured, or had some crazy traumatic event thrown in their face. I would've left 5 seasons ago.

I actually wouldn’t hate seeing her move it would make the show interesting give them an entirely new storyline. It is greys anatomy not Seattle anatomy to be fair.

@@mellia8232 Still nothing comparatively. Early to mid Greys was really something and they haven’t managed to recover what made this show a hit in the first place. This show used to be a thoroughbred, now it’s just a tired mare.

I wonder why she thinks that. *I* associate it with bad memories. Everyone else left her already. MAGIC(the original five) is gone. Every subsequent group has also gone. Its time. And this is coming from a girl who back in high school had basically formed a club every Friday morning to talk about this show.

Sorry I don't get it. Amelia and Maggie are practically co-parenting Mer's children with her. Mer works all the time and spends a lot of the time in the hospital. She also has a new boyfriend now that has high stakes job and flies all over the country. So she plans to move and take all her children to Minnesota where she knows no one except Nick? I don't understand how this is believable... I am all for empowered women but moving does not seem to be in her childrens best interest since. "it takes a village" and her village is in Seattle. and it just seems weird and not in sync with her character.

I hear you, but if you look back over the last season or two, Meredith does seem tired. Never mind from her own physical traumas of drowning, miscarriage, nearly dying from childbirth, plane crash, attacked by a patient, covid, etc. But the emotional and mental traumas she's faced add up over the years. It actually does make sense she is considering a fresh start. And no one in her life wants to let her have the space to even consider the possibility because she is their linchpin who holds them together and they know it. She turns pain into passion and inspiration. Now she's taking a breath and looking around for the first time. Give her that, she's earned it.

It does take a village but Meredith can built another village anywhere in the world. I think it’s more empowering to have a mother not tied down by her kids. Meredith and Ellen deserve to move on. Meredith has pretty much lost everyone she’s ever loved in that hospital one way or another - imagine not being able to go one day without your heart breaking over a memory of your husband or sister or best friend. She needs to move on. It would also be better for the kids to move now rather than when they’re starting high school and settled

@@ozgurl6827 I agree the kids are settled and have a good unit around them. But again, that’s not a reason for her to be forever tied to Seattle. You what her to stay miserable until her last kid finishes college in 20 years time? She could move now and build a new life and the kids can grow roots there too.

She has been through more trauma and sadness than anyone on this show She can’t walk the city, walk the hospital, OR FOR FUCK SAKES WALK HER OWN FUCKING HOME without seeing Derek (the love of her love) and her memories there... without seeing Cristina (her person) and their memories there... without seeing Alex and there memories because I would say those three are/were the 3 biggest people in her life (besides her kids) and I can’t imagine dealing with that I can’t imagine walking my home and remembering so many happy times and so many people at every step and when you step outside the sound or sight of the Ferry boat and when you feel like you are fucking suffocating in the grief and memories you go to the one place that you felt safest and was always home (the hospital) and even that isn’t home anymore and it’s just as if not more painful to be in than anywhere else

I think it was implied in season 17 that they were divorcing but it will probably be confirmed in this season’s finale

@@joeyhoqiaoni April also explained to Jackson on why she and Matthew split up, they both stopped coming home because there would've been arguments, he still hasn't gotten over his wife's death, and hasn't really forgiving her for dipping on him at the altar. So he decided to stay at his sisters.

Them getting a divorce was a lot more understandable than then getting married. It felt like they were getting together because they wanted the idea of a happy ending to their story rather than because of a real connection.
