How I Trailer, Launch & Operate My Mini Pontoon Boat

Here's my full process from storage, trailering, launching, and taking it all the way back to where I store it! I've found a few helpful tips along the way that I hope you can take advantage of to make your life easier! As far as actually driving the boat, just turn the tiller and you're off! Simple as that!

I have binge watched several of your videos and found all of them informative. One thing I would suggest is skid plates on the pontoons.

After my first trip, I realized that with all the work materials I keep in my truck, a trailer would be a necessity. Ended up finding a good deal on a jet ski trailer and it is the best purchase, besides the actual boat that I have made.

5:33 cut that front strap shorter. No need for it to be that long and it would suck alot if it wrapped itself around the wheel and axel. 9:21 add bow line extention with a clip that clips to the other clip. That way boat doesn't get away from ya when launching and you can use bow line for a tie up line or anchor line after you unclip it from bow holder line.

Having the same trailer and knowing what "high quantity " the hitches are I do believe that I would suggest you move the heavier (the battery) items from behind the axle to infront of the axle. Speaking from experience if you unload the tongue weight from them little trailers they get plum squirrely at highway speeds 🤔 When you look in the mirror and see your trailer flopping around like a dog wagging his tail, not a good feeling ‼️

Not for everyone, a trailer dedicated to one small boat has shortcomings. First is storage, the second is state license fees. This approach gets away from the original purpose; simplicity. If someone rents a single car storage space; that rent and the trailer license fees have to cost something like $3000 a year. If your going to pay those fees, you might as well get a 12' or 14' deep V aluminum boat. My take is that a mini pontoon boat is best carried as either a car top or in the bed of a pickup. Once lakeside, a dolly with larger wheels would negotiate sand and stone surfaces better. Talking about surfaces, it hurts watching you scrape the hull bottom off your boat while dragging it to the trailer.
