How true is that: "we don't really want them to stop coming". For me, the grief is all I have left from my dear brother (departed 3 years and 3 days ago, aged 30). It's my everlasting love for him, only turned inside out. That's why I hold my grief very dear, and carry it with pride. Because great grief can only come from great love, and because it means that he is not forgotten. As long as I'm grieving him, I'm loving him, and he's existing, he's mattering.
