Antoine Griezmann is one of the best players in the world once again and despite his greatness I feel like he’s still incredibly underrated. He is everything you want in a modern day footballer and managers would appreciate having a player like Griezmann on their team. He’s a CF/number 10 advanced 8 type of player and his scoring creativity playmaking intelligence dribbling work rate and defending allows him to thrive in so many different roles on the field and he’s a player who simply passes the eye test as you have to watch him every week to appreciate just how incredible of a player he is and he can do it all. He’s very consistent in his performances and has had longevity at the elite level has had a significant peak for Atletico Madrid and France and even though things didn’t work out for him at Barcelona, at 32 he’s bounced back and right now for club and country he’s playing the best football of his career and he is pure magic a genius etc. A stat that sums up just how reliable Antoine Griezmann is to a team is that at international level for France whether it’s an international friendly Euro World Cup qualifiers World Cup European championships UEFA Nations League he has played what 80+ consecutive games for his country and that is staggering he’s rarely even injured during the course of a season and is always available every time he plays for the national team and even though Kylian Mbappe is the best player on the France national team, Didier Deschamps sees Griezmann as the most important player on the team. Even when he was in the worst form of his career at Barcelona one thing remained certain Antoine Griezmann was one of the first names on the team sheet for France due to his importance and what he brings to the team from an attacking and defensive perspective of the game. He is a fantastic player and even though he’s a World Cup winner despite playing for Barcelona and Atletico Madrid he’s never won La Liga or the Champions League at least he’s a world champion and has the most prestigious trophy in football to his CV and it’s easy to overlook him and under appreciate what he’s achieved in football due to him not having as many team accolades as other top players, from a talent perspective and in terms of individual brilliance he is an excellent player one of the best players of our generation.

People can just look at the goals scored and ramble on, but anyone who has actually watched the game knows Griezmann has been even better than Mbappe recently. In the world cup, up till the final, he was France's best player. Even now, his chance creation and amazing workrate does wonders for France in the midfielder role. He's very versatile, he can play as striker,cam,cf, and even drop back as number 8 and is the most complete player in the World right now.

I think Griezmann's talent can't be explained by stats. That is the main reason why it will always be a pure striker that will get the ballon d'or (without considering real/barca lobbying) If you combine his striker skills + defensive skills + his central role in a team he should have many ballon d'or right now, including 2018.

After having a very disappointing stint at Barcelona many thought that Antoine Griezmann was finished and could never return to his old form and his resurgence is a testament to his mental strength and a great example on why it’s too quick to write off players. It was obvious that Barcelona didn’t use him to his strengths and it caused him to produce inconsistent performances and was been often in and out of the team and how he managed to resurrect his career and return to top form was his decision to rejoin Atletico Madrid. His first 12 months back at Atletico Madrid were complicated as he had a difficult relationship among their fans because of the way he left during his first stint and he was really going through a bad run of form and there were even problems with his contract as Diego Simeone was benching because of what could happen if he had played a certain amount of minutes in a lot of the games last season and they and Barcelona got everything sorted out and now Antoine Griezmann is enjoying his football again for club and country and last season in La Liga he had 15 goals and 16 assists 31 G/A and played a pivotal role in helping France reach the World Cup final last year all of that resulted in him getting nominated for the Ballon dor last season and in my opinion he should’ve finished higher than 21st. This season he has been unstoppable for Atletico Madrid in La Liga and the champions league as he has formed an excellent partnership up top with Alvaro Morata as he has scored 11 goals and sure he’s yet to register an assist this season after having 16 assists last season, he’s playmaking at an elite level as well. He’s the best player on this Atletico Madrid team and they have benefited from his output and you can even make the argument that they this season right now even if they aren’t top of La Liga are playing much better football than Real Madrid and Barcelona and that’s a fact. If he maintains this form Atletico Madrid have a very good chance of having success in La Liga and they could possibly have another deep run in the Champions League as you can’t sleep on them they’re dark horses in this competition and they’re a team you don’t want to play against. He reuniting with Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid has been an absolute boost for Antoine Griezmann and he is thriving and playing well again and it’s important to have confidence in your ability be surrounded around the right system and environment and this has shown in his performances recently.

Simply an amazing vid bro, I'm glad you made a vid like this to make people realize how awesome this man is. He's become my fav player since the last ucl final he reached with my fav team Atlético. I remember him being more of a striker back then but over the years he's improved way more. And also, what people are saying about him being a fraud at barca, well, remember what kind of barça was back then. Even with messi, they were a complete mess so blaming him for being a flop when the team was a complete mess is a terrible mistake. Most impressive thing is that his position dropped a bit on the field, he pratically played as a midfielder during the World Cup. His defensive abilities have always been there but right now he's exploiting all of his qualities to their maximum playing sometimes as an attacking midfielder.

You missed some important points. In return season to ATM, he only could play a limited number of minutes in order to Atleti be able to buy him back for a certain (lower) amount of money than Barcelona pretended.
