Griffon guide - How to start from low altitudes

Hey hey!
Though this is a topic already included in the general guides, i wanted to make a seperate vid focussed on starting from flat/ low grounds as i feel many people struggle with the starting altitude that is needed for griffon. I will do some more of these specific guides in case people only want to know about a specific topic. My recommended method of getting around in general is skyscale x Griffon, its fast, fun and useful!
now there are more ways to start from low grounds, ( like turtle x gliding booster) i personally dont find those methods really usefull, so i focussed on only including methods that are nice and not too hard in use rather than the very niche ones.

This is a topic i have already covered in my previous guides, but i wanted to make a seperate video focussing on it as i still see a lot of people struggle getting the initial height. being able to use Skyscale x Griffon properly makes travelling a lot more fun, and its also usefull and fast! my recommended methods are between 00:27 and 01:17. Using skyscale, or skyscale with gliding booster is simply one of the better ways to get yourself going. an alternative method is with the bunny , but i dont recommend starting from completely flat ground as its easy to fail it 01:56 Now the soto mastery buff is ofcourse only for people who have gotten their skyscales the old way+ have the new masteries, so if you only have soto skyscale , this wont apply to you. you can combine the buff with the previously shown methods to get a little more height with the dashes! and ofc leylines and updrafts help, but they are situational. now there are more ways to start from low grounds, ( like turtle x gliding booster) i personally dont find those methods really usefull, so i focussed on only including methods that are nice and not too hard in use rather than the very niche ones.

Really useful video! I love using the griffon for map traversal because it's so speedy and fun to use, but on the flatter maps it can be a pain to gain the proper height. And that's where this comes in very handy!

Just unlocked my Griffom yesterday. I still have to work through its masteries and the Skyscale though. I am excited and scared at the same time 😂

While I think that GW2 is a great mmorpg, getting the 2 coolest and most convient mounts is a pain in the ass.

a little extra note, you want to be relatively fast with pressing bond of vigor/ spacebar if you are using the 4 dash method to gain as much height as possible, if you are waiting too long you wont get enough height to start from flat ground: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pJ6XZLCQt7a8c3k.htmlsi=Taanabg0C-xVSROh i am placing this here to avoid any misinformation ;) but you can infact get a lot of extra height with the 4 dashies

Wizards vault dailies/ weeklies really help! And check your material storage for stuff to sell, sometimes you have more gold than you'd think

02:02 wait, how do you switch mounts so quickly? I know griffon mastery 1 lets you mount mid air, but I gotta have the griffon already selected as my mount....

You can keybind your mounts! It makes switching between them a lot easier :D i have my griffon bound to my mouse and my skyscale to my numpad 0

I wish they'd just uncap the altitude system, so there was a direct relationship between speed and climb distance... so you could jump off a small hill, swoop, gain a bit of height, swoop, gain a bit of height etc.

there is a little bit- can climb to a bunny height above the starting height, but sadly its hard capped there.. i would love it aswell if they would return it to old griffon before the height cap nerf

@@ThyWeepingWillow Yeah I read about that nerf, and it rather annoyed me. Started playing the game just over a year ago... recently me and the fiance got our griffons, loving it. Spent like 5 hours zooming around Mount Maelstrom. I'm assuming the developer logic was - if we don't nerf griffons, they'll out-perform skyscales... but I don't think that's true at all. Most people would still use the skyscale, because it's a helicopter, and has no learning curve.

Not sure what im doing wrong, but i am trying the first method with 4 bond of vigor, on a flat surface. But i dont get enough altitude to finish the dive and go up again…

Likely a problem with the timing! First, when you are about to start the first dash, make sure that your skyscale is pointing upwards while it still has some of its green bar. Then during the second dash you already want to press bond of vigor and spam the dash upwards. Since your skyscale will be in the red with the heightbar, if you are waiting too long with bond of vigor, your skyscale will start dragging itself downwards unable to get more upwards, so you want to be really fast and already press bond of vigor/ spam dash during the second dash due to it It is a bit of a method youd have to get used to. Once you got the timing right its doable but it can be funky the first few times you try it

nope! but the difference between casual me vs voiceover is def there. i guess i try pressure my voice a bit much to try and speak words more clear- but im not a pro at it so it sounds a bit awkward

step 2: watch for the part about the bunny trick / glidebooster :P getting skyscale nowadays luckily isnt so hard anymore tho, theyve made it much easier
