Hitting his peak a tad late. Barca B -> Benfica -> Leverkusen. He probably stayed at Benfica a couple years too long, but agreed... he's showing why he should be on the Spanish national team when not many follow him (unless you're a Sporting, Benfica, or Porto fan... not many are following the Portuguese league).

We can’t justify Grimaldo’s inclusion without mentioning a bunch of other Leverkusen players. Both fullbacks for example are integral to this side- in league play alone him and Frimpong have 15 goals and 15 assists between them already. It’s wild. Xhaka has been unreal. Boniface doing bits. This is such a good side.

One of the unfortunate things about the modern game is that coaches usually don't allow their players to take long shots any more. It's a low percentage option compared to building up to get a short shot off in the box. The long shots era may be passed, but nice to see Grimaldo fighting against the trend.
