Fun fact: Claire's (Grimes' real name) original idea for the title of this track is 'Adore You' (as with the chorus). But she wanted a cooler one and kept thinking for one. Then a friend told her it sounded like 'Idoru': the book by Wiliam Gibson about this A.I. girl or something. Claire, of course, thought it cool. But what's really cool was the book was dedicated to a woman named Claire too! It was the author's wife. So Claire felt like it was a sign from a simulation as she said in an interview and used it as the final title!

You will learn to never lose if you give your life to Jesus Christ. His word is truth. Sorcery and witchcraft is a seductive weapon, it never brings freedom from pain ,loss. Yet, at the cross of Jesus Christ, the price that was paid to die for you and for me has power over these false , counterfeit spirits. Life or death . You can choose Life. Where the spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ is there is freedom.

@lis77424 жыл бұрын
@@youmustnttearorcreaseit7320 True love is when you choose to be with a person. That you realize that no one you pick as a soulmate will be completely free of flaws. Everyone has their quirks, bad habits, good and bad sides and a unique personality. You understand that, after a while, you have to settle with someone, and they'll end up being perfectly imperfect. You accept them as they are in their pure form. That's my interpretation at least.

@TheLiana11024 жыл бұрын
Sometimes women thrive when pregnant more so than before they were. It gives them purpose and focus. You really have to turn into a super woman and pregnancy is the preparation for that. For her particular journey from my understanding she was more into partying and it probably grounded her getting pregnant, now it seems she has been doing more work than ever because she is doing what us all mother's do when in preparation for a child to come. It basically is nesting. She is probably wanting to make as much music as possible because she feels inspired and mentally, physically, and financially you just want to prepare for what is to come.

I think the chorus “look, this is who I am; and you understand” perfectly described true love. Grimes is a very strange, unique person, I bet most people have a hard handling that; she doesn’t necessarily like how exclusionary her personality is, but she can’t help it. She knows who she is and she embraces that fact. The person she is singing to, also being uniquely actualized like her, understands that this intense individuality makes it really hard to maintain a steady relationship, and knows that this thing probably won’t last long term. But you love in spite of that, because thats what love is

@brookequaid19354 жыл бұрын
"I wanna play a beautiful game, even though we are going to lose" extends this. She admits that they probably won't stay together forever, but she wants to be in the moment and embrace what their love is right now and she's willing to do that even though she doesn't think it will last. They might lose this game of love, but it's beautiful, so they will play anyway.
@kenjohnson87854 жыл бұрын
@@brookequaid1935 it is beautiful. And heartbreaking and wise. It's also very brave, to allow ourselves to love knowing it will end with terrible pain because nothing in our world lasts forever. Grimes blows my f-ing mind sometimes.

She's obviously smart, and beautiful. It's like, her own parents didn't want to support the authentic her. It must be difficult, having 2 parents that have leadership type jobs, and they play these roles out in society that are very serious as well. They must've been super strict, cuz Grimes would run away from home. Then she amassed a public following, bigger than her mother's (in government), got with Elon. Her parents minds were probably blown, cuz they thought they had lost their "troublesome" daughter,and that she would have been a loser vagabond for not following their every direction, lol! I love you Grimes, keep proving to your parents, and your peers that you're dreams are relevant and that you are powerful in your own right.

Idoru is one of William Gibson's greatest books. If you don't know who William Gibson is he coined the term "Cyberspace" and was/is a true visionary. His earlier books arguably invented Cyberpunk. He also envisioned an immersive virtual world long before VR/Oculus Rift. Look up his earlier books like Neuromancer and Mona Lisa Overdrive, his books are masterpieces of science fiction. Also, Beautiful song Grimes :)

She’s extremely talented and iconic. Why the hell isn’t she super-famous (long before getting a lot of curiosity clicks because of her relationship). It’s so rare these days to find artists that write their lyrics, mix their own beats, style themselves, direct their own videos, are responsible for their own creative development and personal “brand“ all in a badass edgy artistic way... most of the artists we actually get exposed to today aren’t even “artists” they are talented (maybe) at one or two of those aspects and the rest gets manufactured for them. She’s a captivating person- I can’t wait to see the next look, hear the next song, watch the next video etc 👏🏻
@CrimsonEclipse2 жыл бұрын
Probably because she was producing her own music and usually in the entertainment industry it's about connection not about how good your music is. There are a plenty of smaller artists that has better music than what is mainstream but it just depends on the production company and marketing firm. Grime just starts becoming mainstream because of her famous boyfriend.
@ericprochnow2 жыл бұрын
Grimes isn't really mainstream so doesn't fit in the regular radio stations, those other artists are signed by literal billion dollar agencies that spend hundred of millions on advertising and buying their own artist's tracks to insure they reach the top ten on all the billboard charts. Its a game of its own.

I broke up with my partner 6 or so months ago, I’m still mourning our relationship and think about him and our dog everyday. While we were together I used to listen to this song on repeat every morning dropping him to work or picking him up from work - knowing that it was always going to end and this really resonated with me.. We played a beautiful game and we lost.. I still adore him. Miss him every day, I hate / love that I always come back to this song, it’s too special to let go of.. ❤

I have ptsd, pregnancy being a big trigger for me. This is the only piece of related media I can consume that makes me feel joyful, in a sad way. Look, you say, as your fingers tremble "This is what I am" And I, fingers trembling too, understand You said we could play a beautiful game I could chase you down in the name of love We could play a beautiful game Even though you know we're gonna lose You adore me Adore me Choose, you say, as your fingers tremble "This is who I am" And I, fingers trembling too, understand Unrequited love has reassembled you I think it's crazy And If I say "I do", you'd reassemble me, baby You think I'm so cool but I don't think I'm cool I shouldn't be sad Because I made your all time favorite music Here I go, getting away I think we finally lose But you adore me Adore me Adore Adore You adore me

@@MoarteaLunii well I agree, that most offensive and wise are creative/real art, but I disagree that "only true art are the ones that's offensive and wise". That's your interpretation of "art" and I'd say that's solely based on stuff that you enjoyed. "Monalisa" wasn't offensive. Neither was wise. It was a painting for fuck's sake. Grimes wrote, produced, engineered her own songs. And the stuffs that she created are mostly unique. And she created a lot of stuffs. I can safely say that she's indeed creative and capable of producing real art.

This song embodies Spring so perfectly. From the birds in the intro down to the almost annoyingly repetitive and optimistic instrumentation in the background, which evokes the feeling of spring's stubborn and giddy return every year. Grimes' not-fully-expressed vocals fit this mood perfectly, like barely opening flower buds. And then that synth melody that comes in at 4:19 feels like spring finally returning, all the flowers blossoming at once, persisting till the very end of the song like spring does into summer. I return to this song every spring :)

@ThisIsMyRealNameits an innocent comment on a pop video, you need to calm down. Trillions of human babies have been born and, if alive and intact, are Male or Female. There are anomalies inherent in nature however, but dont be jumping on people who aren't conscious of intersex or trans people - it's just flesh and blood! And you aren't on this planet for a very long time so start enjoying the life you do have, start caring for other people/animals/plants and stop pumping out hate, blame and judgement.
