Interesting video. In 1969 I was 19 and lived very near Sharon. Sometimes when I was out front she would be riding her bicycle and she would stop and we would talk. She was a very sweet person. One to be missed and never feared - not even her spirit. Thank you. Oh-yeah, Rudy's house was a total replacement.

My mom, who passed away this time last year, told me a story a few times about how, when she was a little girl and my grandfather was posted in northern Italy, she would play with one of the Tate sisters - I think it was Debra. Her memories of that were hazy she said, but she did absolutely remember meeting Sharon as a little girl and being mesmerized by how beautiful she was.

I really like David and his house. You can tell how much he’s fascinated by the history. I love that that he’s always open to show his house and tell his experiences.

I was living in Southern California at the time of the murders. Before them we dressed wacky and enjoyed the hippy clothes. No one locked their doors and life was carefree. After the murders the hippy clothes were stored. If you dressed in those clothes you were labeled "Manson followers". We started locking our doors. Things changed that day. Hippy times ended.

I completely appreciate your respect and honour to Sharon Tate, her baby and the other people who lost their lives on that fateful night. I've heard stories about people hearing a woman screaming for her baby in the original home. No matter replacing the framework of the home, the imprint of what happened remains - over and over again.

You could spend a year in David Oman's house looking at all his memorabilia and you still wouldn't be finished. He's a very lucky guy to live right on the side of a canyon with those incredible views, watching the wildlife and getting the juice on his neighbors.

In the early 1980s, a friend of mine and I went up the road. We took pictures outside of the original gate. One of the neighbors came out and told us to leave. So we did. But I’m really glad we went up there when we could.

I knew someone that worked on the ranch during the time of Manson, I was a runaway during the time and feel very fortunate to not have fallen in with this group. That was a most exclusive vid, Thanks 😻

I followed everything in and television news, and newspapers as reports and stories unfolded. Then there were the books and documentaries. When I saw that this was your channel, I wanted to see this. You are always respectful, and your research is meticulous. Thank you!

I went there in 1972 when the house was still there and it probably looked like it did then. We had a hard time finding it no GPS back then. I loved being a teenager in the 60's and a young man in the early 70's.

I was 17 when this happened. I remember waking up to the news and how shocked and terrified almost everyone in the country was. I saw all of Sharon’s movies and she was a favorite of mine. So very sad.

This guy is a good guy, you can tell he gets strange feelings and I've been there and sadly a lot of people think you're crazy. I've picked up on spirits since I was a small child, never forget seeing a solid black shadow person when I was 4 years old. During the same time period, a neighbor friend of mine was a police officer in LAPD Hollywood division during the late 60's throughout the whole 1970's. He talked about a lot of things. The two things that stick out the most are he was one of the first responding officers to Janis Joplin's body discovery and another time he walked by Charles Manson in jail right after the arrest for this murder. He said that when he saw Charles Manson in jail that "Manson looked like a little shit head trying to appear tough." Also, he felt really bad about seeing Janis dead from addiction. He knew that Janis had a world of love and respect as both a person and a musician.

So glad David shared his perspective of living there and was nice enough to allow you to record from his place. Thank you so much for always doing these videos with much respect. I saw Sharon’s wedding dress up close in Vegas and it’s so sad such a gorgeous woman about to give birth. 😞 Thank you so much again love your videos. 🙏🏼

A few years ago I was reading Helter Skelter for the first time and got pretty wrapped up in this story. I did a lot of research and found that Jeff Franklin (Full House creator) built his palace on the Cielo Dr property. We went to visit my brother-in-law in LA while I was reading the book, so I was hoping to visit some of the places of the Manson murder story, including a visit up Cielo Dr. Well, we were too busy for me to do so, but my brother-in-law had a birthday party for his wife while we were there. I should mention my brother-in-law is Dave Coulier from Full House. At the party was Jeff Franklin! I was too shy to mention anything to him about my hoped for visit, but how cool would that have been!

I'm a big fan of Sharon. The fearless vampire killers is my favourite vampire film. What happened to her, her baby and friends was awful. Rest in peace to all.

I was up at the original house in the late '80s or early 90s. I worked for an attorney that lived down the hill and he knew the owner of the house who wanted him to come up and listen to some tapes of a singer he was promoting. I worked at the attorney's house during that time and was really a great job. I went up to the property with him and I was stunned to see that it was a ranch-style house and that the property wasn't sitting on a lot of land like I imagined when I originally heard about the murders. It had beamed ceilings (this would be in the living room cuz that's the only room I was in with my boss and the owner) and I remember how Sharon Tate was found and it freaks me out somewhat. And I saw that there were homes not too far away from this particular property and I was stunned about that because I couldn't understand how people couldn't have heard what was happening. And I also remembered about the fact that Sebring was killed and my boyfriend at the time used to go to his hair salon to get haircuts. If I could recall correctly his Salon was on Fairfax not too far from the Garrett coffeehouse.

I like that you include Sharon's baby as one of the victims. Sharon was two weeks from giving birth and begged for the life of her unborn child. Those evil killers still murdered her and her baby.

I was 10 years old living in Delaware when I learned about the murders. I'm 65 now, living in California and this still haunts me! This is something you can never forget! I pray that all 8 of these dear souls are resting in peace!

My father was a general practitioner in Chatsworth, Calif., a town right next to Spahn Movie Ranch in Simi Valley, and treated the Manson Family - just the women - at no charge. They baked bread and made leather-fringed pot pouches as payment for their services (mostly for STDs). My dad, a religious man, just enjoyed the debate about Charlie and Jesus Christ. Coooo-Coooo, baby! My sister met Charlie at Topanga Plaza (for those who know the area); he invited her to smoke pot at the ranch. Finally, my family and friends rode horses at Spahn ALL. THE. TIME. I don’t remember anyone (guides or employees) from our rides, but it’s still weird to think of my family’s minor brushes with the whole Manson situation.

I was 3 years old when these killings took place. At that time I was living just over the hill, not too far away in the Westchester area. Of course being 3 years old I don't remember anything about it. My parents did a really good job keeping both my younger brother and I sheltered from these events (not that I would have understood them anyway). My mother later told me that things didn't get really scary for both her and my Dad until the LaBianca killings. That's when they told me they started to really feel a since of panic and urgency. By 1970, my Dad had accepted another job and had moved us from the Los Angeles area to the small mountain community of Tehachapi (Thanks Dad). I didn't start learning about the murders until decades later. Then it suddenly dawned on me, "Wait? We were down there at that time!"

I remember that day completely because my father died in a traffic accident that same day. I remember how we boys were watching TV the next Saturday morning, and our aunt came to see my mother and when she left, she stopped by me and my brothers. I don't know why, but while watching the TV news about Sharon Tate, she suddenly told us: "You don't have a father anymore" .. I don't know what she meant by that, but at least it didn't make us feel any better.

I remember this all to well. I was in 7th grade and I can still remember how I felt. It was so shocking and really hard to understand how something so horrible could happen. The day Manson died, was a very good day, too bad it took so long. And you are right, that day changed everything

I was born the morning of 08 Aug 1969. For the longest time, I was angry to have my first day of life associated with Manson. As I grew older and matured, I realized the link I share with Sharon. Now I embrace it and the more I opened my mind, the more I got in touch with my sixth sense. As a child, I was never a Beatles or Beach Boys fan, nor did I care much for The Mamas & The Papas--which angered a lot of people, but I couldn't put my finger on why. I was never an Angela Landsbury fan, either. And I was lukewarm toward Dean Martin for many years. Ironically, I LOVE Barbara Lewis, and I have from the moment I heard her sing, but I couldn't explain why. Years later, when the internet exploded, I did research and boy was I blown away. I learned that Barbara was one of Sharon's bestest friends. I learned the association of all the other aforementioned people. Here's the weirdest part of all, I looked at the time of my birth, and I arrived into this world at almost the exact moment The Beatles were taking the famous Abbey Road picture. It does not get weirder than that.

Interesting fact you may/may not already know. Trent Reznor recorded most of the Broken EP at the Tate House. The video for "Gave Up" was filmed here. He reported hearing strange sounds and often felt cold spots throughout the house and he said that when they were there together it had a very dark aura to it. Considering the material of Broken, coming off Pretty Hate Machine, and the darkness leading into The Downward Spiral, I would believe it.

I have been up there, while visiting California. My family thinks I am morbid, but I find it so interesting. So I broke away from them and did my own little tour (also ate at El Coyote). This was after the original Cielo property had been demolished, which I would have loved to have seen. But can’t really see much behind gate anyway. But that whole area is gorgeous!!! You are so right about the views. Maybe I am just not sensitive to the afterlife. Because I just felt happiness and peace while up there. I really thought it would be this dark type feeling. But I was pleasantly surprised. I can see why Sharon was so attracted to that home and area. You are not far at all from all the hustle of the city, but seems like you are tucked away in your own little nest. I think it is so sad that those monsters took away that sense of security and happiness from this spot (along with what all else they took). But it showed me that they are evil, not the location. So after watching this, and being there myself, any spirits still frequenting the area mean no harm

Another great one, for sure. I was always fascinated about this case. Reading about it is one thing, actually seeing it is something else. How did you come upon that guy (Omman?) whose house you toured? He is quite a character with an interesting house/story as well. Yes, the views are quite astounding all over Southern California. I lived there for 22 years and really miss it a lot. Strange connection to the caretaker of the Tate house, William Garretson. I’m a truck driver leased to (owner operator ) a company based in Columbus, Ohio. My boss once asked me if I knew much about the Manson case. I said I did and he asked me if I knew who William Garretson was. I said I did and he told me that he used to drive for us a few years back. He then said that William told him that he was there on the property the night of the murders because he was the caretaker. He then said, “I thought he was bullshitting me so I googled his name. Sure as shit, there he was!”

I highly recommend Vincent Bugliosi's book, "Helter Skelter". He was the prosecutor. He shares every detail of the histpry, the crimes and the hunt for the killers.

Back in 1969 on Cielo Drive there were only two house standing where the Oman house stands now. The Tate maid, Winifred Chapman ran screaming, “Blood, bodies, death,” where she stopped at the first house in the row which was about 50 yards from the Tate residence entrance gate. Ms. Chapman rang the door bell repeatedly then pounded on the front door and no one answered. She then ran another 50 feet to the next house and saw a young man warming up a vehicle outside of the house when Ms. Chapman told him what happened. Ms. Chapman took almost ten minutes to calm down from what she saw in order to tell the people what she found and for them to call the police…One correction when the killers arrived the hill they climbed over was at the original site of the gate some 100 feet back from the new entrance.

I learned of these heinous crimes when I was in high school in the early 90s. We read helter skelter in class and did a study about cults. I have spent the rest of my life reading and watching everything I could to figure out how these kids could be so manipulated by a lunatic to not only take the lives of so many but the brutal manner in which they were done with zero remorse. I still have no logical answer.

Thank you for including Paul Richard Tate-Polaski, in the death count of Manson's family! The news always said,, "The 5 Tate victims!" Baby Paul was a victim too! Sharon was 8 & 1/2 months and had she given birth that day in 1969, Paul would have lived. I had just turned 13 & lived with my parents in Philadelphia. My parents always watched the news during dinner & this was long before we had remotes for the TV so you had to go to the set to change the volume, channel, or to turn it off. We had started to eat & the news came on about Sharon Tate & thevmurders. My dad ran to change the channel but every channel had it on. We ate dinner with no TV. But that was enough to peek my interest!! I have a small black & white TV in my room, so I would wait till the 11 PM news and watched as that story unfolded. The next night I heard my dad say to my mom, "There was 2 more murders in Los Angeles. Same weird stuff so we will leave the TV off!" I finished my dinner and said I was reading a book and wanted to get back to it, so could I leave the table? They said yes. My TV had headphones with it and I watched a different channel's report on both murder scenes. When the Manson family was arrested and Susan Atkins later told her jail cell friend that she had done those murders, I would always watch the news at 11 PM, if I missed the dinner news. I did a report for my English class in 10th grade, on the Tate-LaBianca murders. Our English classes were done with spooky things. So we had books about haunted places & murders, etc. The school had a glass exterior, no windows that opened except the fire escape windows on either end of the 3 floors. The hallways were by the windows & the interior classroom had windows but non opened. There were 2 classroom doors that faced each other and in between was a door to a smaller classroom. No windows at all. The English teacher was great. He had a real coffin in his classroom! It was great when you got there in time to grab a seat in the coffin. He believed in hauntings & talked about feeling the presence of people in places he had traveled. He was the one who told us about Storesbury's Mansion--Whitemarsh! It was a mansion built by Stotesbury's for his wife. They later sold the estate to a chemical mfering company. The workers got very spoiled by things they saw there! So a bunch of us went up there during the dsytime. The estate had no house s around it and a long driveway so we could see if someone was driving or walking towardscus. (As in the police!) The place was haunted. There were certain rooms that when you walked in, you could feel the presence of the Stotesbury's!! There was a second mansion built called Lynnehurst Manson, also abandoned! We went there at night and brought a tape recorder and Led Zepplin's Houses of the Holy was echoing through the house. One night it was myself, my friend Chrissy, her boyfriend Jimmy, & my boyfriend Denny. We had a blanket on the lawn and the guys had gone to the wooded area to the left of the house as you faced it. Chrissy & I were sitting when I suddenly felt a breeze. The sounds of crickets & an owl suddenly stopped. It was also a full moon, so the house was very lit up. No one walked to the mansion because the road & driveway was about"5 miles. We knew we were the only people there as we got there just prior to sunset and there were no other cars. I heard a noise and looked up to the 2nd floor. I saw a figure in the window. It opened the window. I remember telling Chrissy that the guys had gotten to the 2nd floor & opened the window to scare us. We both stared at the figure in the window & saw no facial features, just a white face! At that second, both guys came from the woods! There had been no time for them to go from the 2nd floor middle of the mansion to the woods. As I glanced back to the window, it slammed shut! Usain Bolt could not have run faster than Chrissy & I. The guys couldn't catch up until we got to the car. There are videos of both mansions on you tube. Just be sure to add Whitemarsh Hall to Stotesbury's Mansion or you get the catering place in center city Philly!! Whitemarsh was torn down & town homes now sit on what had been a massive estste. Last I heard, Lynnehurst was still.standing and now has guards with dogs. Total, Sharon Tate's sister, Debra, lives & works in California. She gets on line petitioned signed by people every time one of Manson's followers is granted parole. She then takes the petitions to the CA governor and the governor overrides the parole board. All of them were given a death sentence. Later changer to life without parole, but they still get parole hearings! One of his followers, Bobby Beausolei, looked in the eyes of the parole board and grinned at them. He then said, "Y'all better hope I never get out!" Bobby, along with Susan Atkins, & Charlie Manson, hand gone to the home of music teacher, Gary Hinman. They tortured him for a few days before they killed him! Manson had used a sword to cut off Hinman's ear. They are all into their 70's. Manson & Atkins are dead. Baby Paul never was able to breathe the air. Sharon pleaded for the babies life. She was slaughtered anyway. Roman Polanski was over in Poland when he got the call. He had just finished a movie had had made and was headed back to 10050 Cielo Drive. He was taking a few months off to be with Sharon & their child when he or she finally arrived. Sharon had said that the on!y thing she ever wanted to do, was to hold her baby in her arms! Paul would be 53 years old in August! Roman saw to it that Sharon held baby Paul for all eternity. He is buried in her arms. I can only imagine that Sharon & the others are still around that land. Such a beautiful lady, and would probably been in movie a for decades to come had her life not been snuffed out by sick individuals for their own pleasure!

It's a shame the old house was torn down. Yes, the most unimaginable and horrendous event happened there, but the new one is so massive, not as beautiful and natural as the other one.
