I have your stage 3 package minus the charge pipe (would not fit with aftermarket radiator) on flex fuel tune. Will this be worth upgrading to?

The brace removed on driverside next to the washer fluid tank..is this harmful to the structural integrity of the front end?

I'm assuming that if I have a AOS I don't have to do the last step regarding the crossover pipe correct?

i have a 2021 Sti, can i run this FMIC and the GrimmSpeed unequal length headers together with no tune and be okay until i get a pro-tune? i see they both need a tune to run them separately

Will this require modifying the location of the Crawford V3 AOS it looks like the piping would go directly over it

Most likely yes, modifying the location will be necessary. We haven't specifically tested our intercooler with the Crawford AOS unit so I can't give you an absolute answer. But the piping does run in the same areas.

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see the reinstall of the crashbar.. Does that not get used in the FMIC?

Not the OE, however we do sell an optional bumper bar with the kit (as shown in the thumbnail image to the vid!)

Does the intercooler piping push up against the fog light bezel making the bumper harder to put on or do I need to change the angle of the piping?

Hi i have 2 questions about the installation.. So do i need to do something about the crossover pipe? because i already has IAG AOS which means i don’t have crossover pipe anymore or it’s safe to install intake cooler only? .. and the second question is the pipe will it fix to cobb air box? or do i have to remove it? please reply as soon as you can thanks ☺️

We haven't had any reports of it not fitting, but we haven't done testing with the COBB unit ourselves.

notice if you have a/c up all the way during slower traffic if outside temp is over 90 degrees my coolant rises from around 185 to 210 but doesnt go higher and overheat but is hotter

Do you have to trim the inside part of the bumper where the fog lights are? I can't seem to get my bumper to fit back on

Technically no, but it seems like there are some minor differences depending on which year you have. Piping adjustment/orientation is something you can play with to clearance the fogs so revisit that before cutting anything!

i just got this from IIR, came to me in what looks like someone installed it and returned it....for my sti 2017 model the fog light housing prevents the bumper from fitting. what makes it worse is that i spent almost 7 hours trouble shooting this only to get to the end and find out it doesn't fit. Not sure why this is marketed for 2015+ if it is really 2018s with no fog lights....pretty bummed

Hmm, that's surprising, it should have been absolutely brand new out of the box. We'll message IIR and see what the story is. That is also surprising considering it fits on both our 2018 and 2020 STI without any fog light issues and is being run on plenty of all years of VA STI. Given the number of pipes orientation is particularly important, if you have any pics of the install send them over to support@grimmspeed.com so we can take a look!

Can I install an HKS Blow Off Valve with this?

Hey Real Salami, only if it uses the OEM style flange. They come in a lot of different fitments so you just need to make sure the flange matches with the OEM BPV. Hope that helps.

So let me get this straight. Having watched the front mount intercooler install videos for pretty much all of the available options, this seems to be the only one that has absolutely no front crash beam or structural member tying the two front end rails together. This kit also requires removing a brace for those front rails, And then the cooling hose has to be modified to fit, but it's still installed in such a way that it's going to rub and requires putting a nylon sleeve over it so that when it rubs it won't make a hole right away. I think there's a lot of room for improvement to this before, you know, selling it to people. At this point the video is 2 years old and I really hope there is an updated video where you show how you change the kit to not include all this. Especially since the thumbnail shows a crash beam but you never installed one. I double check the part of the video near the end where you put the bumper cover back on.

Of course we offer a bumper bar with our kit. We sell our bumper bar ( www.grimmspeed.com/front-mount-intercooler-bumper-bar/ ) separate from the FMIC kit incase people want to run a custom setup. When it comes down to it, these cars were not designed to run huge intercooler cores up front. There is minimal space up front with very small tolerances. We fit a huge 4" core while also giving you the option to run a substantial bumper bar. Although, we didn't show the bumper bar install in this video, we do show it in the WRX FMIC install video which can be found here: ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nNmZfqed3MyVg58.html ) . The nylon sleeve is a precaution. The cooling hose in that area comes off of a hard line and there is isn't much you can do to stop it from rubbing in that spot. Putting the nylon sleeve there prevents it from being an issue.

You would get the most out of your GrimmSpeed FMIC by getting a tune after the installation. But no, a tune is not absolutely necessary.

I need help i cant put back the bumper It touches the fog light with the bottom left piping…

All good all i had to do is cut out the inside of the fog but leave the clips so the fog light can still clip in

Unfortunately not, a majority don't run a speed density setup so it would just be an added cost to most that don't need it.

Hey so i just finished installing this everything was perfect fitment except 1 part.... in your video your using a 2018+ bumper style, on my 2015 my fog light bezel is in the way of driver side intercooler piping coming out of the core. Ive tried every combination of turning the pipe , it's just not going to fit without cutting into the bezel or replacing bezels with 2018 with no fog lights. I wasn't sure if you guys tested this you did not mention it in your video

@@subifelixx i cut part of it out with a dremel in the very corner to get it to fit. looks fine to me you could invert the piece and plastic glue it back on but i thought its barely visible so i left it with a small hole, 2 years in this intercooler is still working great, never had a blow off or leak anywhere

Not in order to run it safely, you'll see more of the major benefits through eventual tuning.

What about the intake duct

The OEM STI intake duct will not fit with the FMIC installed. The piping gets in the way. Our engineers designed this kit to work with our GrimmSpeed Stealthbox Intake so if you are looking for a solution, we suggest going that route.

As of right now, we have not done test fitting with other intake units besides our own StealthBox Intake. So i can't say it will or will not work. Feel free to give us a call and talk with one of our customer service reps to see if we can come up with a solution for this question.

it fits, just not with the box. Sits pretty much on top of my MAF too so im thinking about swapping for an AEM intake.
