Great video 👍. I just removed mine on my 22 WRX to clean the throttle body. The clip and bolts make it more secure against leaking. I had the pipe going to the Intercooler pop out on the highway 😬on my 2018 WRX and had to coast into a parking lot to fix it. I had never it apart before. It was super sketchy to loose boost with a big truck behind me!

It was an easy removal. The new clip design Subaru utilizes makes it much simpler.

@@GrimmSpeed Getting it back onto the EJ was a bit of a trick at first. This setup looks more user friendly by design for sure. Thanks for the vid.

Still curious why Subaru never went front mount i/c to really drive home a lower center of gravity. Sure, the scoop is cool but not all turbo Subarus have them. Yes, the top of the engine would look plain-ish, but a front mount (even a skinny one) would perform better than the top mount.

It's probably a little overkill for Subaru to do a oem Front Mount. Plus added weight to the front of the car. Isn't the best solution for the average driver.

@@GrimmSpeed... 🤔 or it might have to do w/front crash standards (Japan vs US) and a front mount would require extra protection. It might also have to do w/packaging and bumper design. Or, lastly, assembly line process as the engine would go in first, then all the pipes/tubes/cooler in afterwards. W/Subaru, you can never really tell. Shoot, even VW put a small i/c just in front of the right front tire in the MK4 GTIs making a front mount a relatively easy upgrade. 🏁
