The whole overcrook debate sounds like some dudes just don't want to admit they can't nosegrind rails. If you legitimize one 45 angle grind why wouldn't the other variations count?
@mattd16592 жыл бұрын
I think that’s the thing - it’s to do with the angle of the tweak. Too many people over rotating a fs nosegrind by like 5 degrees and claiming overcrook. If it’s gonna be counted as overcrook, and a standalone trick, it needs to be really tweaked.
@IAMYAMAMA2 жыл бұрын
@@mattd1659 yea but then that’s mfs being dumb and trying to say they can overcrook lmao I agree overcrook def has to have a certain amount of tweak or else it’s just a slightly tweaked nosegrind
@benlilley14492 жыл бұрын
I cannot nose grind a rail, I have done some very acute angled over crooks but people who can actually nose grind have my respect.

I've always thought FS 5-0 was cool as a ledge trick. I think it is elegantly simple and surprisingly versatile. I actually think it looks great all ways, whether balanced, with tail dragging, tweaked out a little, popped out from, or some combination of those. Ledge fs 5-0s are not too common in pro skateboarding so it almost always sticks out to me when some plaza shredder or whoever does one. They are boldly simple in a pleasing way, kind of like doing a flatground kickflip mid-line.

What I always got told about overcrooks was that it needs to be on a box/hubba/ledge because of how it locks in. Basically doesn’t feel like any other grind because your entire truck is grinding and a wheel power sliding to be a proper overcrook. Also I differentiate on the rail depending how the truck is pinched. If you’re on top the rail - nose grind. Some how get the pinch like in example picture - overcrook

My biggest problem with frontside nose grinds not existing is that the main argument is it’s difficult. I have shown people several examples of a straight frontside nose grind on a round rail and the main rebuttals are, “yeah but do you know how hard that is??’ It just seems silly to me to say something doesn’t exist or to not distinguish tricks solely because they are difficult not because they are actually the same.
