Even though they came from a punk/grindcore background they evolved into a pretty musically sophisticated band without losing that violent edge. Love this band!

@biorhythmicshifter True! They formed in 1981. They dropped "Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism" in 2020, almost 40 years later (!!!!!!!) and it's just as brutal and heavy as "Scum". Very few bands have done that.

Definitely my fave interview with Shane. Very introspective and a bit vulnerable. Napalm Death has been an inspiration since Harmony Corruption onwards on and off over the years. I will always thank Shane and Barney dedicating songs to Cardiacs as well... making sure they helped others discover that treasure trove of insight. Shane has been there through most of it though. I was massively depressed about Micky leaving ND. Kept wishing there would be one show where Micky would do a short set. Or maybe Lee, Micky, Shane, and Bill could do a couple songs off the Mentally Murdered EP. Yeah, the past is the past, but it has shaped the present quite nicely.

Everything Shane says in this clip is brilliant and worth listening to. What i absolutely do NOT appreciate is the lighting, editing and sound/score. The entire production is actively working against everything Shane says and dragging it down. Shane is straight up talking with no bs about problems, worries, hard times etc. and you thought it was a good idea to add distasteful / eerie music and spooky editing. This video should be deleted an redone.

But napalm death is something special, a mix of almost every music genre i like and it has that raw punk vibe that i love, no excuses just upfront mayhem.
