I understand battle rap could likely never be like this again(unless they made some sort of battle rap league that centers on comedy(which I guess they sort of have)), but soul khan was fucking incredible back in the day. He had so many quick witty one liners that just killed. Which to honest, was why I was almost certain that his comeback battle against Diz just wouldn't work. Though I guess we still do get glimpses of this when URL does their two on two events, and everybody is joking around and having fun.

I remember interviews with Mad Illz, Drect and them saying they couldn't afford to even pay themselves after paying rappers $200. The money now has gone to everyone's heads and it looks like Smack pays the most and his battlers are the least chill.

& I particularly love this battle bc normally I only laugh at what soul is spitting and think whoever he is battling pretty much sucks altogether.. but this battle kills it bc BOTH sides & it's not even just 2 but all 4 of these dudes have fucking dope & equally funny lines! So good.
