It was an amazing weekend, I met a bunch of friends both old and new, the course was amazing…super technical and loads of climbing. Hope you enjoy the vlog.

Loved the video of the event - thanks for taking me along. Reminds me of the first edition of the Dirty Boar gravel ride across the Eiffel Mountains which I did a few years ago now. But with many more fun elements built in.

dave, that event looks like soooo much fun. i wish we had terrain like that in ontario (canada). if we lived in the UK i would totally be there. favorite part of the vid? juliet: "i hate time trials..." LOL. loved the Dueling Race Report videos from you two.

@@DaveNoakes i'm in a city with a good trail system so there's some gravel here, but i generally use those to get OUT of the city where it's fairly flat but at least a little more interesting. not even close to the beautiful terrain, roads and trails you've got. the grass is always greener, right? (well, technically, i think it IS greener there, LOL.)

Great video! Grinduro was amazing!! Good to relive it watching this. But gutted I lost my bottle and went for the chicken line - the A line looked *sweeet*. Hope they bring it back to Wales next year!

It really was so much fun. Back wasn’t too bad…it’s more the fatigue than the pain. The guy riding that bike got 2nd place in his cat too 🙌🏼💪🏼

Thank you, I am still using the Bryton 750. I think honestly it’s pretty similar to the Garmin. Both do the same thing really well.

My weight varies a fair bit, I actually want to gain a bit, I’ve always had back problems and find it less troublesome when I have a bit more bulk on the top half.

Dave ive got a question for you and I reckon you'll know the answer to it for me... ive got a 105 groupset. Rear derrallier is a short cage version with a 11-30 cassette. Would i be able to put a 11-32 cassette on it instead to climb better??? Would it work cos on my bike description it says 30t max for a short cage derrallier???? I don't know the answer. Help me please. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

It'll work just adjust the b screw so the jockey wheel clear the 32. You might need a new chain too.

@@markbulmer1840 it should I've done a few over time. There's a hangar extender bracket by wolftooth or you can buy a cheap one from eBay for a couple of quid.

@@glennoc8585 cheers glen I've got one of those extenders. It was on my bike when I bought it but had trouble getting the chain onto the 30t ring so took it off and adjusted the gears, works fine now but wanted to try a 32t cassette to see if it helps on the climbs 👍

It certainly would suit a weekend rider, that’s the good thing about Grinduro events…you don’t have to go crazy for the whole ride and can just take it at your own pace.

@@DaveNoakes Cool! I'm in Australia but my wife was born in Narbeth and (normally)we return to Wales every couple of years. Love Tenby(and Pembrokeshire)!! Keen to bring our gravel bikes next time so thanks for this. Love your posts(as do Juliette's), your enthusiasm is infectious. Keep up the great work! And you and family stay safe up there. :-)

Woukd you'd be better and faster on a hardtail XC bike. That looked nothing like the Gravel roads of DK or BWR, where the Gravel bike is really at home.

I think an xc bike would have been better for some segments and the gravel for others. Good fun on either. Definitely a bit more extreme than DK
