Very well presented! I was just thinking about having another grip style. Sometimes I occasionally index in front of the trigger guard. Was just watching a video by Vogel about grip the other day. I think that would be an excellent backup grip for if I mess up my default grip.

Vice grip analogy reminds me of Travis Haley’s grip teaching concept 🤔

Very good information. I like it a lot. Rookie myself and currently searching for that “perfect grip”. I’m catching myself overthinking it a lot. Just gotta stick what feels natural!

As a Marine sniper I can tell you no one grip works for everyone. To get recoil management. You have to change small things on a basic grip til you find what works for you!!

The last month I have gone to finger on front of trigger guard. After a few weeks my shooting at long distances has helped 2 keep my follow up shot in no worse than the c zone at 25 yards.

Good vid bud....I would smile after that run too 🤑 So in the last 4 weeks or so I literally shot 4700 rounds out of a tx 22 (to lessen ammo costs during this shit)... Aside from shooting the 22 till the slide broke hahaha. I did realize some thangs......grip is for recoil control, Sight picture, and trigger pull, is where accuracy lives... And I am experiencing what you where saying with not trying and hitting more lol

Thanks Joel for explanation. I seem to be doing something wrong. About half the time when I put the clamp on at extension under speed, it seems I end up over squeezing my dominant hand and my hand and trigger press push the gun down and to the left. If I understand you correctly it's important to stiffen the wrists, but for some reason I also end up squeezing with my grip and also pushing the whole firearm. Any suggestions?

My support hand index finger feels best over trigger guard on my Shield. I can't imagine doing anything else right now, feels solid, comfortable, and happens without thought. Mind you, I do grip the piss out of it lol.

are you even seeing through your red dot at all on your first shot or are you looking over the entire sight and then getting the dot in your follow up shots?
@appliedperformance773

Most of the time I’m waiting to see dot but those 1.43 Bill drills I’m using the top of the optic. Basically as soon as it comes up into the target I start shooting.
