I listen to this alot over the years.The Trinidad language interpretation at the highest level here on the National instrument of TNT. If one is a musician all you do is have a discerning ear when listening. It's simple. A different grade of playing, flare, and notation is happening.i love both.

Robert is in a different class, but boogsie is also in his own groove, and the two are totally distinguished pan players, great to have them to educate the world that this is a musical instrument not a gimmick

Boy I dont know what it is allyuh watchin' I see no winners or loser, jus two genius at work havin fun, but yes, lookin at this now in reflection i do kina wish boogsie was a lil more graceful in his approach toward the showcase. Toe to toe fantastic musicianship taken for granted sometimes I think. Dont want to think about it but vids like this are what we will have when giants like this pass over and their legacy lives on. Robbie is smooth and calm .. But that guy Boogsie manipulates the instrument in a way no one else can . what boogsie does is unique and its about he gets his well earned respect, nobody is close to or can be compared to his musical genius .. Does anyone have boogsie soca salad please post

They shut Boogsie down, sounds like he dominated this shootout & the haters turned his volume down. Boogsie is a musical maniac on that second pan or any pan he gets his grips on for that matter. he uses the full range of the instrument complimenting it with juicy chord structure and fluid melodic lines..

I like Robert because he is smooth and musical...and that is what moves me.If it's about steel pan skills...well,that's another story.But I like smooth,musical..get me?

I don't particularly like both players playing at the same time, in my mind it should be like an ex tempo competition one person play a verse and the other person respond.

I have heard better,the notes are not clear.

@kizikyz I personally think Robbie and Boogsie as well as Earl Brooks are the top three soloist,but boogsie does some things I've never heard anyone come even close to.They do have similar styles,but when it comes to runs and syncopation Boogsie is boss.

I beg to differ I just listened to the performance and did not look , I can't tell when the players change( 1 ), (2) this lacks variation and sounds redundant just a 9 minute jam that's all sorry, I am not going to judge this by reputation, is why I did not watch, the comments I read so far sounds like emotional sympathy based on reputation not performance
