Let’s go grocery shopping in London!!
We have just moved to London a month ago and we are slowly figuring out the grocery shopping and finding our favourites.
Of course these are some of the retailers and online stores that I have tried out so I am sharing my thoughts, experience and what we shop at each of them.
I think it’s quite normal to develop our own biases for food quality, shelf life vs costs. In some instances I might not always shop the cheapest and you could possibly find alternatives at a different retailer that’s more affordable but of course this is based purely on my experience and opinion of the best quality, value for money and most convenient.
Shops that I mentioned:
Waitrose (I shop in-store)
Sainsbury (I shop in-store)
M&S food (I shop this on Ocado)
Also mentioned a few other shops that I have tried and I discussed the items I purchased from them as well
Tesco (unfortunately we don’t have one close by)
Lidl (very budget friendly and some spices, canned items and cleaning products might be cheaper here)
Poundland is great for the £1 odds and ends. I get paper plates for the kids snacking, bin bags, cleaning items
Wilko has very affordable household items, beauty/body items, gardening stuff, kitchen appliances. I have only shopped some towels, shampoo and a few minor kitchen items here.
Most of these stores are online so I would suggest before moving, to do a virtual shop at each to get an idea of a budget that makes sense for your family.
