Videos about Groo the Wanderer from Mad Magazine Writer and Cartoonist Sergio Aragonés. Comic Book artist Mark Evanier, Stan Sakai (who makes Usagi Yojimbo comics) and Tom Luth who is the colorist of the comics. Marvel comics used to publish Groo the Wanderer under the Epic Comics brand for artist owned comics. Before that Pacific Comics and Eclipse Comics published Groo the Wanderer. After Marvel Comics, Groo went to Image Comics for a year and for the longest time, Groo is published by Dark Horse Comics. Rufferto is Groo's Dog, Conan the Barbarian and Tarzan of the Apes have had crossover comics with Groo too.

Has anyone been able to print out the 3D dice that SJGames included in the backer kit? I'm casting about to see if anyone I know is able to print for me. Also, I've read that "resin" printing yields better results for these dice than "regular/standard" 3D printing. But I don't really know what that means. Nor do I know if I know anyone who can resin print these for me. 😀 Any advice would be appreciated!

Dude, I could totally print the dice for you. I have a resin one, but that one is not set up at the moment. I could FDM them no problem.

Pat! You’re the best! I don’t even know what FDM means! Ok, it’s the coils of plastic 3D printing? I’ve got a local friend who I can probably bug for that. But if you ever get your rain printer set back up… 😀

I think you can still get it from the Steve a Jackson Games website. You might find a local game shop with it though.

Another wonderful Groo video! The only problem is that I end up buying MORE Groo stuff after each one! :) I would LOVE to see a tutorial or a playthrough video of the game; for some reason, no matter how detailed printed instructions are, I find I learn best from video. Even "Ticket to Ride", a relatively simple game, seemed impossible until I just watched a quick video. So, gather your gang, make up some cheese dip, and film a gaming session please! :)

I have been getting the most random recommendations from KZfaq. I dont know what encouraged the algorithm to let me know there's both a Groo the Wanderer tabletop game in 2023 AND that there's a KZfaq channel that has dedicated his whole identity to this obscure comic character I only know about via an oblique Homestar Runner reference, but you know what? I love that I know it now. I honestly feel like I got the gist of the game just through this video, but I'd still love a detailed tutorial just as an excuse to see more of the game!

Hey! Welcome and I’m glad you found the channel! 😀 I used to watch Homestar a lot back 15-20 years ago. I never saw a Groo reference in it though! What skit was it in? I’d love to see it! 😀

I just caught my neighbors throwing. Throwing around soil at… 10 pm at night and I go outside and they said “we’re laying out mulch.” At fucking 10 pm. So I callled them mendicants and went back to bed.

Yes, they’re a good size. Good heft to them too. A friend is getting the alternate 3D five printed (in both sizes) so we can take a look at them too!

the original game and expansion played exceptionally well. a very good rendition of the characters. very clean game play. highly recommended, especially for any fans of GROO and Ruferto.

Not having played it, I couldn’t really comment. But reading through the original rules and seeing many of the original cards, there have been no major changes to the game. It integrates the theme very well too. The few clarifications I’ve seen (which is really all the changes amount to) take a really tight game and make it that much easier to play. A fun, silly, chaotic and good game! 😀 And yes, I’d LOVE to have s copy of the original… One day. 😉

I think I spotted a few things that are different in the text in some of the new cards. I’ll have to go through mine and have a look. We had a lot of fun with the game back when it came out, and the dice were definitely smaller. Sometimes you just look at the cards in your hand and just laugh at the art! I vote yes please for a play-through video. More Groo content can only be good!

Both actually. Here are some of the more obvious changes: Some cards used to be removed from the game after they’re played. Cheese Dip used to be played before the dice were rolled. Tax Collector used to double all rolled Kopins. Flee With Your Gold was called Groo Tactics. Oh, and Captain Ahax used to be mis-spelled Ajax.

Love the review. However, I find it unrealistic that Groo destroys things when he visits a town. Name me one instance in the comic books where that happens. Just one!

Yeah, larger art on larger cards would have been nice. But it sure is nice for folks who weren’t able to get the original, now they can have the game too!
