just letting you know, as you are using peacock stirrups, the elastic side goes on the outside of your foot. this is so that if your foot gets stuck in the stirrup the elastic can pop and you will be released to avoid getting dragged. no hate just wanted to make sure you knew xx

I have seen some of your videos and I totally LOVE how you seem so gentle in your handling. You take everything so easy and your horses seems so happy and calm around you! I like how you reward your horses and doesn't use punishment as a way to handle things. Looking forward to your next video!

I have a question concerning the "posting" you do when you trot. I'm from Sweden and here we learn to sit down when the horse's outer leg (the one closes to the fence/wall) touches down and stand up when the inner leg touches down. So when we switch direction we sit down an extra step to keep the rhytm, making sure to sit down in time with the "new" outer leg. Is that not something you do in Australia? Genuinely curious. Edit: Just noticed you switching towards the 14 minute mark so maybe I just missed it earlier.

Today I got to handle a buddy sour horse (they had to drug her last time she was in a stall she almost jumped out, they put her friend beside her this time.) It was quite interesting to me getting to work with her a bit. The other girl that had her she was tossing her head yanking her all over, when I got to her she calmed. Letting her have her head with some rope every time she took a step or got a little ahead we went in a circle after a while she'll stand there for a couple minutes before she'll step again and we'll repeat. (Her friend was out in the far area she could see her as she passed.) It made me realize that I shouldn't be rushing to get a horse of my own, that maybe for me it would be better just to train and work with horses until one day I might get one. I'll rather have an out of control horse on the ground than under saddle as horses are fairly predictable when you know the signs.

My friend has one that does that, not sure where you are from or what discipline you do. In the western world we call it a trope, half trot, half lope (a real slow canter). The lope can be artificial but all of our horses are naturally gaited for jogs or lopes. Her horse just happened to be a fluke

Something my trainer told me was to sink my heels down and kind of put them forward ( when you put them back behind you, you loose balance ) and to keep your hands higher on the neck and to naturally bring your chest closer to your hands with how they jump (if this makes any sense lol, kinda bad at explaining)
@delainichristopher5249
@delainichristopher5249 4 жыл бұрын
Also practice your 2 point. With a good well balance 2 point that you can hold for a lap or 2, it will improve your jumping position. Also depending on how strong you are and how your horses trot is, riding stirrup less during a trot can help balance and strengthen!
