Groot 2240: Growling Mack LE McNeilus Atlantic Curotto Can Garbage Truck

This has got to be one of the best sounding LE’s I’ve come across! For those of you who have been watching my channel for a while, you might remember when I filmed this truck's twin, 2239, which sounded almost as nice as this one. The thing is, I recorded that one on my old phone so when I found out this truck was running, I knew that I had to track it down and grab better footage. Funny enough, they took the Curotto off of 2239 and put it on this one, so it’s almost like I filmed this one twice!
Being a 2007, this was one of the original Allied Waste trucks that this shop bought. I’m not sure how many were initially delivered, however three remain and primarily run yard waste however they will occasionally run trash or recycle routes. Since almost all of the WXLL McNeilus Curottos were down the day I filmed this, they decided to send this one out on a regular route so this was definitely one of my more rare catches. I hope you all enjoy the video!

What an amazing truck! One of the best LEs I’ve every heard and watched! Love how it would give that break release on the tiniest movement. And really like the growl this beast had on take offs. Liked how both the truck AND the driver would lid flip haha. Excellent find on this! Awesome work Grant!

I totally agree! It really doesn’t get much better than this, and that nostalgic brake sound was the cherry on top! The takeoffs only made it better too, and I agree watching him make sure everything was flipped was pretty fun too, which is exactly what I’d do if I were learning a route too. wow! this truck sounds great and that cameo from the roll of was cool. i didn’t know these were 2007s but it’s cool to see something that old running around here still. it’s cool to see your video of it

Great truck, the brakes releasing have a great honk to them. Engine sounds mean. I miss that Mack sound.

I’m with you on that one, love that nostalgic Mack brake sound and that deep diesel rumble. It’ll be sad when trucks like these are completely gone, that’s for sure

Great video Grant! This truck sounded pretty sweet, nice that it was able to lid flip the smaller carts. Interesting how the grippers are squared off, grips the 36's perfectly! The paint honestly makes the truck look newer, but obviously that's not the case haha.

Thank you! I thought it sounded spectacular, and the lid flips only added to the fun. All the older generation Curottos have grippers like that, they work really well. This truck was painted from Allied colors to Groot colors in late 2017 so you are right about it looking newer

Amazing video! I absolutely loved the growl of this truck, this is probably one of the best sounding Mack’s I’ve heard! This driver was really entertaining too, I loved all the lid flips. Curotto was pretty fast too. Awesome catch!
