I love GSP. Point blank. Period. He is amazing&I admire the fact that he left the UFC on his own terms&has been so vocal about drug testing. Pretty sure we've all seen just how right Georges was about PED use being rampant. GSP is just a nice guy all around&I root4him in everything he does.

I love GSP, he looks harmless (obviously he's not) and talks so passively. He was (is?) a true ambassador to the UFC. There are few characters like GSP that emanate the mechanism of respect, credibility, dedication, proficiency and commitment to being the best one can be, like he does. A role model, if you will. Listen how he treads so skillfully around the Reebok furore, whilst maintaining his support for Under Armour (his sponsor, who by the way would be 'not allowed' if he ever stepped back into the Octagon under DW's regime) AND not getting lured in to the Stitch debacle too much. Of course he knows full well whats going on with that story, right? That was a strategic response, and a very clever one at that. Read it as you will...

darkstatehk Very well said my friend! I'm biased because I'm Canadian but I really feel like GSP has always been the best athlete ambassador for MMA. Not that there's anything wrong with other approaches (ie. McGregor) but I love how GSP never made a spectacle out of himself or the sport. I'm a grown man but I can say without a doubt that GSP is still a role model and inspiration for me.

+Jake Bauer There are other fighter I've always been a bigger fan of than GSP, but I've gotta agree. Fighters like Jon Jones with the Nike deal, Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor have been great at gathering new fans. GSP however has been the best "clean" representative that shows the UFC and MMA in a purely positive light and makes it seem more respectable to people outside the MMA fan base.

GSP will always be the best WW IMHO. We won't ever see another guy dominate at 170 lbs like he did. To give you an example of just how dominate he was, Robbie Lawler will have to remain champ til the year 2021 or so to be considered.

Classy guy and definitely one of the most inteligent fighters ever... and that´s the one single resaon why he isn´t fighting anymore, after so many years. And as much as i´d love to see him back in the octogon i surely understand the many reasons why he doesn´t return. He demonstrated time and again he´s a great champion and a unique figher.

Rory will never be world champion. He has no judgement of distance he spent the whole fight within striking distance of Lawlor who was able to hit him in the head whenever he wanted. He telegraphs all his strikes especially his kicks and he has no defence. He shuffles around no head movement, no footwork totally flat footed. Doesn't have the killer instinct he had Lawlor out cold all he had to do was take him down and submit him or even a standing submission, Lawlor was barely conscious, but he couldn't do it instead he tried to knock him out but Lawlor just covered up and got through it. No fight intelligence. He's a guts and glory brawler. He wants to stand and trade. I think GSP knows it too. GSP has some of the best defence in the biz surely he knows Rory doesn't even have the basics in defence.

On reflection I think I have been too hard on Robbie he's a good guy and a very talented martial artist. But he cant keep taking damage like he does or he will end up with brain damage before he's 30. After that fight he "didn't even know what year it was" quote Dana White. It annoyed me because after the fight with LAWLER he was tweeting that it was a great fight and other stuff like that....technically that was some of the worst defence I have ever seen in MMA. Kids gonna get himself killed.
@jakebauer1262
@jakebauer1262 9 жыл бұрын
squiggle dash I don't disagree with your points on Rory but I do feel like he's still got loads of talent...and time to improve. I think the hunger is there but less visible under the even temperament. I like your idea of Rory taking down Lawler for a submission when he had him rocked...that probably woulda worked. Overall my confidence in Rory has eroded a bit but I do still think he'll hold the belt one day - not likely for the length of time GSP did though. All in all, as a Canadian, I was super disappointed with the outcome of the fight, BUT it was one of the best fights I've ever seen!!!

Who wants to see Lawler vs. Hendricks 3? Blah. I wanna see Condit. Of course he has to earn his way up a little more imo. Condit was out a long time. I don't think he deserves a title shot just coming back from being off for almost a year right? He fights one time and now he gets title shot? Seems kinda idiotic, yet I don't wanna see Hendricks fight Lawler again so Condit it is I guess. Lawler watch out!

On some bullshit. The one against Hendricks could have went to Condit, he nearly finished GSP until it went to the ground, and the injury loss was a fluke. NO ONE can bang with Condit. Put him against any striker and see what happens. Wait until November. Condit is a straight killer and hes going to war.

Crusade of Prayer (25) For Protection of visionaries around the world Saturday, February 4th, 2012 @ 10:09 I will now give you a Crusade Prayer (25) to ask for protection for all my visionaries and those chosen by God the Father to spread His most holy word on earth in these times. “O God of the Most High, I plead with You to offer protection to all Your holy messengers in the world. I pray that they are protected from the hatred of others. I ask that Your Most Holy Word is spread quickly, all over the world. Protect Your messengers from slander, abuse, lies and every kind of danger. Protect their families and cover them with the Holy Spirit, at all times, so that the Messages they give to the world are heeded with contrite and humble hearts. Amen.” My child, pride is a trait which is most displeasing in the eyes of My Father. It is more painful for Him when the sins of pride invades the souls of devout and holy souls when they refuse to accept the truth of His Holy Word given to the world today through His messengers. They must ask for the gift of true discernment which will only be granted by the power of the Holy Spirit to humble souls with a pure heart empty of pride and arrogance. Why does he think Condit is so dangerous when he kicked Condit's ass, except for the one head kick Condit landed? Hendricks beat GSP's ass and will do it again if they ever have a rematch.

AdonisAiolos Calm down little fellow. I don't know what fight you were watching, but in the fight I watched GSP got his ass whooped and I was going for GSP. I'm not a Hendricks fan at all but he won that fight. Condit is a much better matchup for GSP then Hendricks is because Condit has no takedown defense and no wrestling at all while Johny is a better wrestler than GSP.
