The designer of the stadium is an architect named César Azcárate, who's also from Bilbao. He works with the company named ACXT/IDOM, and has designed the reforms for Levante's and Villarreal stadiums and the upcoming for Zaragoza's too I believe.

So sad you missed the absolute BEST part of every match at San Mamés. At the end, Athletic players place in front ot the norht stand and sing "Txoriak Txori" with the people. You should search it, and if you ever come back please wait a few minutes, it is such a magical moment. ❤❤✨

I saw those 2 clubs play each other there for the Copa Del Rey semis. Osasuna won in extra time, but that atmosphere and the stadium where incredible.

-The biggest derby in Basque Country is Athletic Club - Real Sociedad. -The match was on a Monday, so the stadium was not full. -Athletic Club is unique in the world because it only plays with Basque Country players. Great video, but the issue is the background music that you put when you were alone in the stadium is actually from the southest part of Spain, Andalucía. Bilbao is not the same, its very different.

Mate! You need to experience the copenhagen derby from FC Copenhagen stadium, Parken. It’s a whole other experience than Brøndby, their fans is very lame… but there is not another derby until next season, but you need to experience it!

Not proper a Dervi, just different province but a good rilvary even. Dervi is Bilbao against Real Sociedad, Eibar or Alaves. Great video. I hope you enjoy your stay there.

Great videos mate! But this isn't a derby. Athletic would play its derby against Real Sociedad, both from the Basque Country. However this wouldn't be a derby either as they are both Basque teams and share ideology, so there is small rivalry nowadays.

The reason why this match is referred to as a derby is due to Osasuna being part of what's considered by Basque nationalism as the 'Greater Basque Country' or Euskal Herria in Basque. In fact, Osasuna is the only team to feature their name in Basque in LaLiga (Osasun means health in Basque). And it doesn't matter whether Athletic Club share an ideology with Real Sociedad or not, it is widely considered as the Great Basque Derby around Spain, regardless.
