Most of my kpop friends make fun of me and my love for Shinhwa. They only know Eusha Eusha and Venus if only they would listen to these songs.. they make my heart beat faster and faster and fill me with warmth. Wish I could afford to buy all the albums.

I agree, the circumstances are very different. Shinhwa had to take a near 4-year hiatus when the members went into army back-to-back. 4 years out of public eye is a very long time in Korea's competitive entertainment circle. SJ in contrast takes turns going into army so their activities can still be on-going, like EunHyuk taking over as leader in Lee Teuk's absence. Can't recall any group who can come back strong like Shinhwa after such a long hiatus with or without army.

They didn't make a big deal out of it, though. They all went to the army pretty quietly actually. Minwoo was just saying that message to the fans that had been with them for 10 years at that point and would really miss them. Plus, they had a 4 year hiatus because they all went to the military at different times and a lot of fans were just worried that they wouldn't continue as a group after the army because they were getting older.
