Usually, stress is bad for your plants. But here are four weird ways you can stress your plants that'll actually help them grow bigger and better.
It sounds crazy, but you'll thank me after you watch.

I grew up next to an 80 year old peach orchard, about 100 trees. The old farmer who took care of them didn't use pesticides until about 2 months before the peaches were ready. He let the little bugs eat on the peaches and sporadically sprayed to keep their numbers low but didn't eradicate them until the peaches were fist sized. His peaches grew to about the size of two fists and I learned later on in biology class that fruit that has bee damaged has an enzyme in it that's good for heart health because the enzymes repair the damaged fruit skin and pulp, like a plants fetal cells that become what the cell is they're next to. Anyway, always try to select blemished or insect attacked and repaired fruit...it contains enzymes that a perfect looking fruit doesn't have, that are beneficial to your health.

I stress the hell out of my plants without even trying. It comes naturally because I have sucked at gardening since I bought my first house in 1974. Apparently something good is happening because it stones me better than the dispensary stuff I was willing giving up large chunks of my retirement check for. Goal number one accomplished, I’ll learn details as I gain experience.

A good way to look at crop steering/drybacks is you are temporarily increasing EC/PPM in the medium by lessing the amount of water via dryback. Its like if you let salt water evaporate halfway it would be more salty
@billybudz
@billybudz 2 ай бұрын
Dry backs also increase average leaf temperatures. The leaf Stomata constrict for moisture retention during dry backs limiting transpiration (cooling), CO2 respiration and GROWTH! Dry backs are misunderstood and often inappropriate!!!!!!! Learn your plant in your environment with your growing style. Gardening is not a one size fits all activity and neither is stress training. Scotty can't teach us all, capiche? 💯✌️🦚

I think it's best to keep your plants happy but don't pamper them. I like to use "high stress training" too - it seems brutal but the hard squeeze snap down and twist really does work.. Plenty of blowy wind is crucial. The main thing is not to overfeed. I grow in good soil and feed once during veg and about four times in the early flowering stage, nothing but water for the last three weeks. Like you I want them kept cool for the last couple of weeks too. We are trying to replicate the climate of the Hindu Kush (unless growing tropical sativas). I don't let them suffer full on drought for fear of RSM. The other thing I don't do is leave them in darkness for days before harvest. Somebody spread the rumour that trichomes and terpenes develop in the dark - they don't. These develop as part of the photosynthesis cycle.

you can add to much uv light and the resin dries out.. been experiencing it few times.. i used the gavita plasma light "in combo with hps" and it has a lot of added uv.. running this light the full 12h light cycle.. that will hurt the resin.. but if its used for 2-3 hours "give or take" resin will be more potent

How long until you have to do it and where outside. Only you really don't want bugs and pests to get on it, then take her in and introduce them to your indoors area, plus fungal spores in the air outside and bacteria which bugs carry. I know they are resistant things outdoors but something getting in this time on it, lurking in the shadows and surpising you when your 7 weeks into the next one would be devastating.

Watching a guy transplant his seedlings that must have been all of an inch tall, he dropped one that was the most expensive and it snapped the stem. Snap went 99.9% through the stem and there was a teeny tiny fibre that had peeled down the side of the stem still joining the 2 pieces. He sliced a straw in half, propped the thing up so it looked fixed, with the top half sat atop the bottom half, and left it. Incredibly it pulled through, and that slice developed into a huge knuckle like a tubar root but on the stem

I heard a claim that screwing a brass or steel screw, through and back out of the main stem 48 hours before harvest, is a good stress trigger to turn the stubborn clear heads into cloudy ones. For some reason copper coated screws and nails were not recommended toxic or something. Doesn't take long or cost much to do, though ive seen no study on it yet so its in the bro science category for the time being

no it's not good to stress plants, you want healthy plants and most people all ready kill their plants or can't grow correctly so they already stress their plants , stress can cause spider mites infections ..

I'm with you. There is no reason you should be stressing your plants in 12/12. In veg screw with them all you want. But in 12/12 just let them baby's do their thing.

Don’t it always seem to grow !! When you don’t try to force feed . Grow it outside and let nature take its course close attention with minimal interference ? I have witnessed that plant start To recover from nothing but a stripped stalk and half the root ball thrown out in a creek!! It was half submerged and starting to grow new shoots In October in Nova Scotia!! 🫠🤔
