Thank you so much for your explanations! Seriously, all the other videos from people talk about how everything has to be sterile and I know enough about biology and sterile processes...so it just didn't make sense that everyone is so stressed about it lol I would love a tutorial for your mason jar spawning!

With coir I don't wear gloves, but any bagged substrate material that has manure, definitely wear gloves.

Did you use any heating ? What strain is this? I never seen somwtjing so huge. Question , once you first flush. Theres a layer of myceliyn or aborted small pins that i cant remove( thry get squished) how do you rehydrate ? With out it rotting ?

Thanks. Nice and tight...definitely sending new hobbyist friends to this. Was wondering about your typical RH where you live? At 6500' we are pretty dry so I'm working on KISS ways to keep the fruiting chamber humid. Diaper tek as well as water beads are the path at the moment. In appreciation.

I agree with you with the gloves kind of. Yes there is contamination in the air. Why its important to wear gloves is it reduces your chance of contam. Why? Yeast and other contaminants on your skin can take over very quickly if you skipped a step. Dry coir is F.U.L.L of trich. Id rather spend the 5$ and 15 seconds once a year then to waste 2+ weeks of waste grain spawn

Haha no audio? I talk about it, they are 6 1.25" covered in micropore tape. There are many kinds of monotub designs, this is just one I prefer.

Is there a way to encourage native, wild mushrooms to grow outside? I have no intention of eating them, I just love all the little mushrooms that occasionally pop up in my yard, but I'm wondering if there's a way to get them to show up more often. I cannot use manure even if I wanted to, so anything other than that. Compost and a lot of misting maybe?

i get the 5 kilo blocks. theres several brands. yeah I cook my grains, I prefer triple cleaned equine oats from a farm/ranch store or kroger brand wild bird seed (in the pet aisle). you can find links to the Amazon products in the video description!

There are studies showing that full spectrum blue light or white light are the best for mushrooms. Even while kept in 24/7 light scenarios with no periods of darkness. They prefer far-end blue light so full spectrum blue light is the best, like 7000K but I go with 6000K full spectrum which is slightly blue. 5000k is absolute white and is still better than red light. Red lights hinder mushroom growth.

you can fruit shoeboxes without a monotub, but I highly recommend using one. lots of people just take a 2nd tub and put it on top, a dub-tub. I never liked those too much.

The point is to grow mushrooms. This tek is not intended to replace monotubs at all. Its for people that use shoeboxes and want the best way to fruit them. Monos have positive qualities all their own. A few reasons you might want to do this method... 1. You don't have to mix multiple jars of spawn together. 1 spawn jar = one shoebox. 2. You can grow more than one variety in the same space. 3. They are easier to manage than a full size mono substrate at harvest and cleanup.

the colonizing conditions is an old technique. i do recommend going straight to fruiting now. it speeds things up significantly.

Pasteurizing is enough for monotub substrates. There is no point in sterilizing when the grow will take place in a non-sterile environment. You must however sterilize your spawn.

Mutations we call them blobs. You can try the next tub adding a compacted 2" top layer of coir at spawning. Seems to help with the issues.

Right on, brother. Thank you. My people, I urge you all to help put an end to the ill-humored joke about this variety because it is inappropriate and truly, unreasonable as well. Most times they look more like a person with a bucket hat than they do a phallace. Truly, wise men do not worry about the size of their manhood and they do not talk about it. Big Bucket Hats is better than PE. It is something you can share with your kids and your family. I will never buy this strain until they change the name, I hate the name of this strain. It is said that ancient people in Thailand called these, "bey-koolt," which meant, "big ones(mushrooms)."

For my own notes: mix 1:1.75 volumetric ratio of spawn:substrate, then add additional substrate as a casing layer to bring the total volumetric ratio to 1:2 spawn:substrate.
