Would of like some explanations on why clay beads. Do they add nutrients? Why not start with cut onions placed on top of beads? Mine have begin to mold, what's up with that and are green stalks OK to eat? So we will never get a nice fat round bulb to cut up and use in our cooking?

Hi, this is just my experiment of growing onion in clay pebbles. And yeah you can eat those green stalks. Your suggestion is actually better by cutting the onion before rooting it.

each one of those growing shoots will turn into its own onion, should have separated them more. you can bury them up to the green, and they will grow new bulbs.

you can plant it in soil. this experiment is actually not recommended when your onions is growing

I don't understand the purpose of this video sir, what is the final result? I am looking for growing or harvesting onions 🧅 from onions.. But your video got over just showing the growth of onion leaves... We are interested in full onions not just the leaves..... Can you please make a video to show the end product a full onion by this method??

id assume you'd be using this method to harvest the green onion thats growing out the top, rather than the whole onion. you would just use scissors to snip the green parts off. if you wanted the whole onion you could probably just let the bulb get big and than cut the bottom off before you use it to start from scratch again

There are tons of youtube videos of people growing onions in just water...because there's nothing wrong with that. These videos are meant for people who just want to grow onions for their leaves using only water. If you have a different purpose, for e.g. interested in the entire bulb and not just the leaves, then look for onions grown in soil and not hydroponically.
