I have recently ordered several seeds and purslane is included. After seeing this experiment, I am looking forward to growing it. As you mentioned, purselane is extremely nutritious. Thanks for sharing.

Oh I love this one. I usually harvest wild parsland. Because I didn't actually even know you could get the seeds for them but I will definitely be on the lookout for the seeds. Because I really love eating this and I would love to add that to my new to me aerogarden.

@@vmuse55 It would have been way too much but according to wikipedia, " Purslane has a high tolerance for salt, making it suitable for cropping in areas where irrigation is carried out with water with high chloride-based salinity." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portulaca_oleracea#Soil_salinity

How fascinating! Is Purslane a suculent ? The leaves look very fleshy, and those stems look particularly succulent and nutritious.

It has many characteristics of succulents like thick, fat, juicy, etc. but these plants grow fast and short-lived.

Do you adjust PH with the nutrition solution when you use maxigro? I have and do use miracle grow granulated nutrition but it has to be watered down and the PH has to be adjusted. So it makes me curious if maxigro needs a PH adjustment.

No, I am too lazy to check the pH and up/down it. I never check pH with MaxiGro. However, I will chagne water every 6-8 weeks, especially when I am using MaxiGro since the solids won't dissolve 100% and they pile up in the bowl. It also resets the pH imbalance to some extent (not neccessarily fixing pH but doesn't go out of control).

I'm looking forward to trying this, since it's so nutritious. I do have a question for you. Since you always wait until the seeds germinate to start adding nutrition, how do you keep track of when to add nutrients? I'll admit that I always add nutrients right away so I don't have to think about it!

I just resent the nutrition reminder whenever I add nutrients for the first time. Just touch and hold the nutrients button for 5 seconds to reset the nutrition reminder. If it it Elite/Bounty model, it is in settings.
