Hello from Oregon, it's 2023 and I need tomatoes for my heart's health and you thought me so much. Thank you

Venus is my favorite Micro Dwarf. I bought from a different site and the tomatoes are teeny bit smaller, and always sweet, almost like candy. I only have 2 growing in a Harvest, I think I will try 3 again. Originally I had 3 different Micro Dwarfs, but felt the difference in the shape of the plants choked out the one plant, so moved it to a different location. Definitely worth saving seeds and growing again. Recently I pruned mine fairy hard to encourage new limb growth at a smaller circumference size, and it is doing great. Mine is over 300 days old now. Thank you for a great video!

Interesting! Right now I am also growing a dwarf tomato called Micro Tom. ( Two plants in the Aerogarden Harvest, the older model). One plant is smaller than the other one but some of the fruits have ripened earlier; it‘s a red version. I‘d love to try a yellow version, too. Thanx again for all your eatable plant experiments! Best regards from Germany!

Would you be able to make a video showing exactly which leaves you prune off of your micro dwarf Tomatoes? I'm having a really hard time deciding which ones to clip off and which ones to leave. Also, maybe for one for Bell Peppers, or peppers in general, if possible. Thank you so much for your videos, as you are helping me learn so much!

Thanks for introducing me to another great micro dwarf variety! 85 days seed to harvest is nice. How often did you prune?
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
I haven't pruned initially as they didn't have a lot of foliage. I was pruning the leaves as they are getting old. But I should've pruned a little more aggressively, especially because I have 3 plants in this garden. They got overcrowded all of the sudden at some point and caught up powdery mildew.

Great information! Would you recommend growing these in the aero garden sprout or do I need a larger aero garden? Thanks!
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
I generally don't like Sprout model due to its low light wattage and slow performance but these plants will definitely work in Sprout model. My recommendation is to grow a Harvest model.

Interesting how you removed the two center pods I imagine to provide more room.
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
That's right. Moved the center ones so the remaining plants will have enough room.
@mohammadalakeel97952 жыл бұрын
Do you soak your sponges with water before putting them into the pod ?
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
No, I never soak sponges if I am placing seeds directly. I only soak sponges when I am transplanting sprouts or seedlings.

What nutrients are you using please? Have you grown Jochalos in one of these systems?
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
I have been using only Aerogarden nutrients for all my tomato plants. I haven't tried Jochalos variety yet.
@Chevynut1002 жыл бұрын
Do you ever cut the leaves back so more energy goes to the tomatoes?
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
Normally I don't cut leaves on tomato plants unless they get overcrowded. But I keep removing any aged out leaves. Many dwarf varieties of tomato plants won't get overcrowded as I grow only 2 plants on Harvest model (3 in Bounty). Only few varieties like Tiny Tim and Aerogarden red heirloom will get overcrowded sometimes.

How do you find the seeds for dwarf plants? I find it hard to find seeds with a max. growth of 30cm and I am scared that they grow to big. Only found dwarf tomato plants, but I would also like to grow some peppers or other vegetebles.

It's a Micro, not a Dwarf.

Hello. I love all your video's I'm growing tomatoes in my aerogardan bounty elite. I notice a few of my green tomatoes have a black spot on the bottom. what should I do. Please help.
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
Thank you. That's called blossom end rot. You can add a teaspoon of Epsom salt or calcium-magnesium supplement. You can also try increasing Aerogarden nutrients, and see if that fixes the problem. But it will be slow process. For instant remedy, try supplements like Epsom salt or calcium-magnesium supplement.

Hello, why did you show the foil on your video?
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
The grow deck on the Harvest models have lots of gaps and I am seeing a lot of Algae all over the grow deck. So, I covered it with foil to prevent algae. I explained it all in this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qNaAg8ZnvLadnH0.html

Split tomatoes means not enough nutrients. Feed 1x per week instead of every 2 weeks. Too many leaves will be soaking up the nutrients - that's why it is important to prune leaves regularly
@kimchee47102 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info!!!
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
I have been reading that tomatoes split if they grow faster than it's skin. And, the faster growth comes from heavy watering which is always the case in Aerogardening. At least the good port is, only about 1 tomato out of 10 is splitting. But definitely pruning is an important thing either way.

I have a new Aerogarden Bounty, I put 3 jalapeños and 2 banana pepper plants, is that too many?
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
I think, 5 is too much for Bounty. If you could reduce to 4, then you will get good results.

It doesn't surprise me you had germination issues and a totally wrong plant from this supplier. I and others had big issues also. Many many seasons lost all told.
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
That's really sad. I had huge germination issues with their Mohammed tomato seeds as well. They don't even have a way to contact them. Their phone number doesn't work, no email to send message, their contact us doesn't work. I am very disappointed with their seeds but they have a good collection than other stores. Hope they will improve their quality of seeds in the future.

@@aerogardenexperiments Yes - I had a hell of a time with zero germination of many varieties and regular leaf types come up when they should've been Potato etc. Had to scramble to find seeds elsewhere to save the season. Never again. How was Venus vs. Orange Hat?

Both are good. Comparatively Orange Hat tomatoes are tastier than Venus. The yield is pretty close.
