Growing a mango tree, from seed to fruits in 8 minutes (time

Growing a mango tree from seed is easy.
1) There are thousands of mango varieties, so pick yours wisely.
2) Growing a mango tree from seed will likely take at least three years to produce fruits.
3) When transplanting the mango tree, replant it as soon as possible.
4) After planting, please water the plant every other day for about 30 days.
It's reputed that mangos soothe the intestines, making them easy to digest. In India, mangos have been utilized to stop bleeding, to strengthen the heart, and to benefit the mind.
The mango fruit, even when fully mature, hangs from the tree on long stems.
The fruits come in many different colors: green, yellow, crimson, or various combinations of these colors. When ripe, the unpeeled fruit has a distinctive, slightly sweet smell. At the center of this fruit (a drupe) is a single flat, oblong stone that may be fibrous or hairless on the surface, depending on the variety. Within the shell, which is 1-2 mm thick, is a paper-thin liner covering just one seed, 4-7 cm long, 3-4 cm wide, 1 cm thick.
The mango is in the same household as poison ivy and comprises urushiol, though less than poison ivy. Some people get warts from touching mango peel or sap. Persons revealing an allergic reaction after handling a mango can usually enjoy the fruit if somebody else removes the skin. The leaves are toxic to cows.
The fruit flesh of a ripe strawberry comprises about 15 percent sugar, up to 1 percent protein, and significant amounts of vitamins A, B, and C. The flavor of the fruit is very sweet, with some forms having a minor acidic tang. The feel of the flesh varies markedly between different cultivars, some have quite a soft and pulpy texture very similar to an over-ripe, plus others have a firmer flesh similar to that of a cantaloupe or even avocado, and in some cultivars, the flesh can contain the fibrous substance. Mangoes are a succulent fruit; the sweet taste and high water content make them refreshing to consume, no matter how the juice may make eating them quite a messy affair.
Mangos become huge trees. In height, a mango tree may hit 35-40 meters (130 ft ) with a span of 10 meters (33 ft ) at the top. New leaves are nearly a salmon color that quickly changes into a dark glossy red, then dark green as they mature. When the tiny white blossoms emerge that they give off a mild sweet odor suggestive of the lily of the valley.

How long does it take a mango tree to bear fruit? from personal experience, a mango tree will bear fruit in about 4 to 8 years, depending on location and climate, among other factors. Most mango plants will bear fruit in less than 6 years.

Awesome job ! I'm from India and we do get a ton of varities of mango every summer here , In 2012 i found a mango plant near playground that sprouted from a seed naturally and i hide it under a metal sheet there itself so that no one takes it and I'll plant it near my house 😅, but I forgot to take it home and when I checked it after some days it died ;( , nevermind I've just placed a seed in a cloth and came here on youtube to see some timelapse of mango trees 😁 hopefully at the end of this decade I'll have a mango tree in my house .

Ajinkya, thanks for your comment. I am sorry your mango plant died. Depending on the type of mango tree you're growing, it's possible that the tree will produce mangoes in 3 to 5 years. I really hope you don't have to wait for too long. India has the best mangoes. I can't wait to visit so I can try all types of mangoes. Next, I am going to grow a mango tree by grafting. I don't want to grow mangoes from seeds anymore because it takes too long, but when the seed is all you have then you have no choice. :) Keep us posted.

I have a suggestion. If you can find please plant a grafted "Amrapali" Mango variety. Its a dwarf plant and produces sooooo many mangoes in a small plant. Moreover the taste is super sweet and the seed is very thin and the mango is very fleshy and pulpy... My aunt first grew it in my family in her home, since then my grandmother, us, our neighbor has all grown Amrapali its soo good and yields soo many fruits. The most brilliant part is that it almost requires no maintenance ... just prune it if you want it bushy and use fertilizer at the initial stage of growth .. It can also be grown on 16 inch pots...

@@designmycity I'm in northern europe, winters are really dark with very little sunshine(less than 48 hours worth of direct/no clouds sunshine for December and January combined), in summer time we can get over 300 hours per month so taking the plants outside is a great idea. @@designmycity yep definitely cold, guessing you use Fahrenheit so -30F is about the coldest it gets here though this cold temps are rare. Anything around and usually below freezing is normal for most of the year. It has managed to snow mid summer a few times but that's very abnormal. Don't worry about it, I'll just keep buying mangos til I get 1 to grow. Love the fruit so it's still a win even if it won't grow this time.
@designmycity

@@dalekcat wow 😲. The mango they sell at the stores are not as good as the ones you get right from the tree. By the time of the mangos get to your country, they don't taste the same anymore. I live in the Miami area (United States), and the climate here is subtropical and mangoes do well here. Hoping to get something in 2024 (I'm in the southern hemisphere so our warm weathers start in September, and December should be peak summer month). When I got my first mangoes, the fruit flies would get to them before they ripened. Then the ones afterwards were untouched and I got to enjoy them. Really hope to get something this year! Three questions for you?# 1 why did you plant your mango tree close to the fence? And #2 how long will it take for the mangoes to start growing and #3 how will you know that you can start picking the mangoes to eat?I had post this question before but some how it got lost or maybe took down.
@designmycity
@designmycity Жыл бұрын
1) I planted the mango tree close to the fence because I have two coconut trees and one other palm tree close to the fence. They're all all aligned and look great. In addition, I didn't want to plant the mango tree in the middle of the yard because I don't have enough space. It's great to have the trees on one side and the rest of the yard free of big trees. In my case, I have grass in the middle of the yard. 2) The mangoes start growing within a few weeks. It doesn't take that long before you see mangoes coming out. 3) The mangoes change color. If you watch the video again, you will see that they start turning yellow. Once you see the yellow color, you know they're ready. And the ripe ones will start falling too.

@designmycity
@designmycity 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jia, the plant will look like it's not doing anything until one day you'll notice new buds and then the new leaves will grow from a few days to a week after the buds appeared. And you will eventually have new branches. While a leaf or leaves are still growing, you will see noticeable daily changes, but once the leaves are done growing, everything stays the stay until new leaves are growing again. So don't worry, keep taking care of the mango plant, make sure it gets plenty of sunlight.

Funny. If you're lucky, your mango tree can bear fruit in less than 8 years. Let's say 4 to 5 years. In my case, I had to transplant the mango tree, which slowed it down. How old is your mango tree?

Ummm ancient its in my family for maybe over a hundred years because there massive but I saw it got fruits but its taking a good while to ripe so i wanted to see if i was impatient. like family has like over 15 trees that I don't have to go in my backyard and get because my family has/had farmers but I'm just in it for the free food .

@@meh2474 That's awesome. 15 trees is a lot. Does your family sell them? And also, check out this video. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e7-cp7OK3bKYk6M.html

Sorry to hear. Most likely not, but I would keep an eye on it for a while before I give up on it. Sometimes one seed will have many sprouts.

During these six days, I didn't lose even a single bit of hope and see it didn't let me down, the broken root part started to swell for two days as it had no way to grow further and after 3 days boom! 😘 There are multiple roots coming from all sides of the broken part, The willpower 💪of that seedling where there's a will there's a way 🙏

Never let your mango fruit get rain when the fruit is on tree the rain makes mango skin black and sweetness is gone

No, the rain doesn't affect them here. I don't think it's the rain that causes this issue. Maybe it's a disease?
