Growing Cantaloupe Plant From Seed To Melon (101 Days Time Lapse)

Time-lapse of growing cantaloupe from a fresh seed to fruit over 101 days. The seed was extracted from a fresh melon, then germinated and planted in pot. The plant was growing strongly and blooming many flowers. Those were hand-pollinated, but only one bearing into fruit. The final fruit is miniature, size of an orange, but is extremely sweet and juicy.

How about not looking at it negatively, instead choose to look at the positive aspects of the video, the miracle of the growth of the plant from a seed, the beauty of the plant and the Life Force within it, the creation of a living plant from a tiny seed, somebody raised you just like someone did that plant, I just suggest you seek out the positive in situations I'm not the negative, when you have a negative thought give it to God or to whoever, give it to a rock if you want, just don't let negativity rent space in your head. Catch yourself every time and it gets easier as time goes on, "believe"! that you're happy and you will be, it's hard at first and slow going but you can be all you want to be if you believe you are, blessings to you friend

I'm on day 5-7 right now of all my plants. I got very excited seeing the first two parts pop out, I am growing quite a few of these probably around 7 seedlings, along next to a watermelon, which I viewed the timelapse of, and oh boy my planter box is going to be so full, and next to the watermelon are the red peppers. 😅 separate from that i started growing some red peppers in a cup because i am not seeing them sprout yet, and the tomatoes havent sprouted, im also growing corn, yeah, corn, lol. I started those in a cup today But oh boy if all of them actually end up growing, idk what ill do, wish me luck, I even rescued a lily plant that was on clearance that im hoping to save/revive, im definitely getting a nice garden this year

But i don't think 1 of them sprouted cause i would have seen it by now Red pepper: im starting to see some of them sprout (my mistake on growing so many peppers LOL)

@@endgamefond Im not sure what to polinate but the female flower will have an ovary bulb behind it in many flowers and when pollinated will grow you have to spread pollen from one flower to another by using either fingers, cotton swabs or grabbing the male flower and putting the insides of both the flowers togethor
@onubohrok
@onubohrok Жыл бұрын
@@endgamefond you pluck a sprouted male flower and peel away the petals to expose the Stamen, you can rub the male flower onto a sprouted female flower. Same concept as a pollinator you're just using the whole flower. With a bee or a butterfly, you not only have to count on their presence in you garden but you also have to consider that they will randomly visit whatever flower they want. Those visits may not be in an order that guarantees fruiting. It's entirely possible that you have a pollinator that visits every single male flower on your plant and never touches a female. Female flowers typically bloom for one day. Sometimes I've seen males bloom for 2. If you physically take a male flower and hand pollinate a female, I'd say you have an 80% chance that the female will be successfully pollinated and will go to fruit.

@GandalfTheSilver
@GandalfTheSilver 44 минут бұрын
If you direct sow-directly into tilled ground soil or a mound, you can get away with up to 2 inches with popular melon varieties. If you're direct sowing, one advantage is that deeper sowing depths also keep the seeds safer from birds or squirrels while they germinate underground. In fact, I sow almost everything at 2 (or 1 and a half) inches since it's a good catch-all depth for many vegetable/fruit seeds. And for maximum germination per hole, you could do a layered depth, such as 2 seeds at 2 inch depth, and then 2 more at 1 inch depth just above it. Then, when the seedlings sprout, thin (or transplant) the weaker seedlings. But there are many exceptions that need a really shallow sow, like peppers.

Until I found a magic plant food, Cal-Mag, my vine had small flowers that fell off right away. After Cal-Mag, I got many flowers that are all becoming melons. I'm about to make hammocks from mesh bags and hope they will stay long enough to grow to a nice size. Ty for this video- good work! I am growing my first vine and didn't get a hammock under the 1st melon in time , so it fell off. BTW, I put a small amount of Cal-Mag on some40 potted plants- all perked up and bloomed except for a sad Geranium. Enjoy!
