Growing Exotic Fruit Trees in Zone 5 | Fast Growing Trees Unboxing | Indoor Guten Yardening
Exotic Fruit Trees, get yours here! bit.ly/3beIlz9
Zone 5 gardening just got a little more interesting! We just got some awesome new fruit trees from fastgrowingtrees.com, and we are really excited to get them started. These are all fruit trees that are native to warmer zones, so we are going to take advantage of the warmer conditions and climate control of our indoor growing area.
In this video, we do an unboxing of these trees and give a little background about where these fruit trees are traditionally grown.
We have so much to look forward to this winter in our indoor garden, and we hope you join us! Please enjoy this fruit tree unboxing!
Thanks for watching.

Wow i haven't taste kumquat yet it's interesting. I grow meyer lemon, calamansi/calamondin, lime and guava. My guava it's second year and fruiting more. It's their 2-3 seasons and they're doing fine. They usually like in warm area like near south window and furnace register/vent and they stay green whole winter in zone 5b. Your trees looks good.

I grow dragon fruit and it's in 3rd year. It's fruiting now but I will see if it will be successful since it's already fall. I put it inside my house before we left since it gets cold each day and our weather is unpredictable zone 5b here and haven't checked it until we're back home.

Just what I was looking for! I am always asking how much I can push the envelope and grow in zone 5/Wisconsin. I am going to try and grow citrus indoors for the first time this year - fingers crossed!

Fascinating developments. I've wanted to grow citrus for some time. I've had great luck with my Brown Turkey Fig. Great size, juicy etc. They do attract the flies from our experience, so some protection of the fruit might be necessary. Great good luck.
@GutenGardening
@GutenGardening 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the tip. Our chicago hardy fig didn't produce flies this year, but the fruit are also smaller, I think. So, we will keep an eye out for the flies for sure, and see what we need to do for extra protection. I know I have read the birds can be a nuisance around figs as well.

Hello Sir! I have to tell you, I was definitely thinking about you as I unboxed these trees and as I got to enjoy some of our tangerines this year. It has been a really interesting experience growing our citrus, and I think we are learning a great deal. I do wish our persimmon had made it through, but I think these will be nice replacements, and our figs were fantastic this year. I hope all is well over there! Have a wonderful rest of the week. :)

The kumquats where cuttings and you shouldn't let it set those first ones just yet. Also I would be pissed if I seen my fig choped like that they just made not only the tree very small now but now a maintenance tree. Yes maintenance tree where you will need to start cutting it to help reduce weight so it doesn't break when it starts getting older and bigger. The biggest problem how all 3 where in the same box like wtf. Sorry its probably just me but I just can't say anything past 2 star

Wow 18 tangerines. So how long did you have it before it finally gave you fruit. Do you keep your garage heated for the fig -- or lighted? That's awesome to know about their 1 year warranty. I did end of buying the Chicago Hardy Fig and it looks so nice. Thanks for giving that recommendation. I'm looking forward to seeing what it does next year. I'm going to have to grow the Brown Turkey Fig.
@GutenGardening
@GutenGardening 2 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thank you so much for asking. This was year #3 with the tangerine. So, now we hope we get continual harvests going forward. Since the fig will be dormant, we will not need to heat the garage or light it. This variety can survive (when in ground) about 10 below. Since we are in the garage, in a container, we should still stay above that mark. We plant to do an overwintering fig video soon, so keep an eye out for it. Good luck with yours as well! :)

What verity persimmon are you growing? Are they cold hardy for out door planting or containers only?
@GutenGardening
@GutenGardening 2 жыл бұрын
Before it died, it was an American Persimmon tree, which is supposed to be suitable to be planted in our growing zone; however, it seems like there was some disease that got a hold of it. That being said, it should be good to go in the ground with a good winter mulching, but we planned to keep it in a container as we are also doing with our fig tree. :)
