I had the greatest time working on this Seavers reunion. I played the character Mickey, Crissy Seaver's rock n roll boyfriend. Crissy is the youngest Seaver daughter who was played by actress Ashley Johnson. Ashley and I had a lot of screentime together and she was a blast to work with. It blew my mind shooting with Alan Thicke, Joanna Kerns, Kirk Cameron, Tracey Gold and Jeremy Miller - the entire original Seaver family. They were all so nice. As a kid I grew up watching them on television after school so when I worked with them on set they just felt like a familiar neighborhood family to me. Joanna Kerns (Maggie Seaver) cast me for the role of Mickey. I remember reading for Joanna at a casting session in New Orleans and we immediately hit it off. She was so cool to work with. Joanna also directed this reunion special and it was great watching her interact with the cast and crew. A few months after we wrapped she also directed me off site for m ADR session for one of the band scenes and pool hall scenes. It was fun being a part of the Seaver family for this special. A memory I will always carry with me .

What a great series that was growing up spending time with the Seavers - then actually being a part of their family as Crissy's rnr boyfriend. It was wild working with all the original cast!! 😀 They were all so nice, just as you'd expect them to be- they were the Seavers. I'll try to upload the entire tv special soon. Yes!! I loved filming in New Orleans for this project. We had such a great time on set. I've shot several projects in N.O. - Dawson's Creek, Stuck in the Suburbs, Growing Pains Reunion II, its one of favorite places in the U.S. thanks for stopping by!!

I too grew up watching Growing Pains. But I moved to Asia in '93 & consequently never even knew about this 2004 reunion movie! Despite the low (4.3) IMDB rating, I found it very enjoyable & entertaining, and felt Joanna Kerns did an excellent job both directing & acting in it (& the rest of the cast was great too!) Indeed, it was awesome seeing the entire original cast together again, & the movie was full of pleasant nostalgia. Thank you for posting, Johnny, & great job playing Mickey! :-D

Thanks so much for tuning in!! Yes it was a fun special to watch despite the lower IMDb rating. Times were changing and the audience grew up lol Joanna was a doll to work with she cast me and I have nothing but great things to say about her:) working one on one with the original cast that I grew up watching on tv was a once in a lifetime chance- each and every one of those actors/characters are exactly as you think they would be in person. They were awesome!! Ashley and I had such a blast playing Crissy and Mickey!! I see her time and again around town and we're still very happy to say hello to one another :) thanks for tuning in!!

Each and every one of them are exactly as you think they'd be on/off screen. Super friendly, funny and positively genuine. They didn't disappoint. I still keep in touch with Joanna. It was so surreal working on a show that I grew up watching. Playing the rock n roll boyfriend to Crissy Seaver and working alongside the entire Seaver cast was so much fun. They were exactly as we saw them growing up - beautiful people ❤️ i could go on for hours about how great they were. I read for Joanna for my producers callback. She was as sweet as can be. She booked me as Mickey. I cant thank her enough for booking me. A great time for sure :) thanks for watching and for the comment. Stop by anytime :)

I am screaming with laughter. I adored this, what I am watching of it. I have to break for bed, but I plan to re watch it. can you please tell Joanna she was a mother figure to me when I really, really needed one? As Alan was a father figure for me too. I was so saddened by his death and I can't wait to see the rest of this and will comment when I do. Thanks for sharing, I really mean this!!!

The newest generation of Seavers has just begun. Carol Seaver just gave birth to Seaver Malone Johnson the newborn baby son of Carol Seaver and her husband Scott Johnson. Scott and Carol decided together to name their newborn son after Carol's maiden and family name Seaver, her mother Maggie's maiden name Malone and of course her husband Scott's last name Carol's married name Johnson. So a new generation of Seavers is beginning to flourish happily. The Seavers gets to keep the family home, Mike and Kate with their children moving in, Carol and Scott with baby Seaver move in, Ben moves home too. But the youngest Chrissy Seaver was just given the keys to her father Jason's RV camper van as a gift for her from her daddy. How brilliant is that. This second Growing Pains Reunion movie ends on a good happy note. The house remains the Seavers. Well that's good. Still would like to know where they all are in their lives after this second reunion movie-lengthed episode of the Growing Pains Reunion 2 movie-lengthed episode.

Such a great compliment🙏 thank you posting your message that means a lot to me 🔥🔥🔥 it was wild being on a show that I grew up watching. To make it even wilder, IL I worked with the entire original cast and hung with them all for 3 weeks on location in New Orleans. Amazing time. This was shot after the 1st Growing Pains reunion somewhere around 2009/2010. I've kept in touch with Joanna (Maggie) and time and again with Ashley (Crissy) if I see her at Sundance or an event. Glad you enjoyed the footage. It was a blast being a part of that show :)

I grew up watching Growing Pains, in the 80's, I am the same age as both Kirk Cameron and Tracey Gold in real life, so naturally for me Carol Seaver was a kind of role model up until the writers changed her character to stop being quite so, as it was called back then, "nerdy." I had to find other female role models after that, and actually never really did.

I totally understand both your side and the producers side. Yes, I too grew up around this original cast and looked up to many of the cast especially Maggie Seaver/Joanna Kerns. When I met her and read for her at this casting I had to downplay how awesome it was just being in the room with her and casting. When I booked I was soooo psyched to work wirh the original Seaver family :) this script changed some of their original "ways" but thats a producer's call, not the actors :( in fairness it's still the Seavers we all grew up watching on television. Thanks for the comment!! :)

Craig, it was an incredible time and a career spike for sure. To work with the original cast was like meeting neighbors I've seen for years but never spoke with them until now lol it was def surreal, man. Yes I agree. I absolutely loved playing Cirssy s boyfriend and working with the original cast. It was so rad. But yes the soundtage set of The original house was torn down years before this reunion to make room for other shows 😥

Yes they did sell the house at the end of the show. This house in the reunion show was a new house that Maggie and Jason Seaver had when the children had their own families and started having kids of their own. Yup It's not the same house. This is the reunion show so time has moved way forward. It was still great working with all t he Seavers. I grew up watching them then years later here I am playing Crissy Seaver's rocker boyfriend. Good times :)

A long time ago 😁 this was such a blast to work on. I grew up watching the Seavers then wound u0 playing Crissy Seaver's rock n roll boyfriend. Working with the entire original cast was something else. Thanks for tuning in and for watching!!

Yes he is and he was very nice on set. I met him a couple times inboassijg and also at the hotel - super cool and down to earth. I really enjoyed working on this special.

It's just a made for tv special.A last run for the franchise before they ended the run. It was directed by Joanna Kerns who played Maggie Seaver.

Loved Growing Pains as a kid and always thought the 1st three seasons were the best. Unfortunately I believe once they added the Chrissy character to the show in season four, it went downhill. Her character on the show was annoying, unfunny and far from cute. I have been reluctant to watch the movies of this great sitcom because I know Chrissy will still be there. I will only think of the show as having only Mike, Carol and Ben.

Yes I in some way agree wirj you. Shows do this later in their run to try to keep the stories new and to find a new audience etc. Crissy in her younger years to me was a change for sure but I didn't mind it. If you watch this TV soecial Ashley Johnson who plays Crissy Seaver was awesome to work with and funny. She's a great presok and I had rhe opportunity of playing her r n r boyfriend Mickey. Working with the entire Seaver cast that I grew up with as a kid just blew my mind. It's a fun tv special, tune in if you can :) RIP Alan Thicke

This isn't there house. Shitty. Kinda upsets me. It's like a completely different show!! So disappointed. This ENTIRE SHOW was not realistic whatsoever. I'm glad I have Amazon prime with the REAL show. Why didn't Carol just go out the goddamn door. Where the hell was Ben for like half the movie. He was so underrated as a kid actor. Funny as f

Sorry you were so disappointed in my episode but as it states in the title this was the 2nd Growing Pains reunion show. This was not the original series. There was no given reason why they didn't use the old house when we filmed but honestly that set probably no longer exists. This was a 90 minute TV special. Not a series episode. Sorry you didn't like our work.
