2 жыл бұрынTime-lapse of growing taro directly from root. The root (edible) was bought from neighboring Asian grocery market. It was then planted in container and lots of water to grow. Taro plant is the small tropical variety popular in Southeast Asia, with large heart-shape leaves similar to elephant-ears but half a size down. The root is the harvestable part.

To keep the water from evaporating quickly. Taro is a tropical marsh plant. Its roots need to be in constant moisture.

Growing my Taro has been a bit annoying. Leaves grow and then they die. I grow it for the look of the plant, not to eat it. I wanted to see if I could actually have a green thumb.

Taro likes water so try to keep the bulb submerging in water. Also, you could try growing caladium, its leaves look like taro but much colorful and very easy to grow.

@i6oVices same! My leaves are huge but I don't think the stem is strong enough. I'm out to HD tomorrow for plant food/fertilizer...😊

Even the video shows a max of max 3 leaves at a time, maybe it has to do with the amount of sunlight/water, probably needs a lot of both

I bought 10 bulbs but mine don’t have a green bit showing on the bulb. Should it? It was advertised as LIVE.

Nope, they don't usually have it. However, if the bulbs are in good conditions, they should sprout up quickly once you plant them.
