Caspar Lee is one of the top international digital stars with more than 9 million subscribers on KZfaq. He was diagnosed with TS as a child, and was inspired to create a video that would highlight individual stories about the reality of growing up and living with Tourette Syndrome. This was amazing thank you so much- my son is really struggling with his Tourette’s when it comes to other people/school. He is only 9 .. I would love for him to build confidence around his tics. Interesting you both mentioned the pig sound because that’s one of my sons. X

I was diagnosed with Tourettes when I was 6 years old. I'm now 33 years old. I consider my tics to be very minor compared to some others who also have the condition. It started with shrugging my shoulders, rubbing my shoulders against my neck, very quick and short horizontal shaking of my head, excessive blinking, small & quiet throat sounds as if clearing my throat or coughing. I can also think of other things, not necessarily tics, but I think they are related. If my shoes are too tight and restricting my toe movement, where i can't wiggle my toes, it will literally bug me the same way tourettes does where you feel like the urge keeps building until you perform a certain action. As I went into adulthood, I realized one day that a lot of the tics I had earlier in life were non-existent. I had forgotten about some of the tics because I stopped doing them at some point in life and never thought about it much. The only tics I still carry with me is the head shaking, blinking, and tiny bit of the shoulder shrugging. I think it's so minimal that I know I'm doing it, but others do not. So many times I tell people I have tourettes and they say they would have never known because they never noticed my tics. My girlfriend notices the head-shaking if we're lying in bed to sleep, I sometimes keep shaking my head. The more stressed I am or tense, DEFINITELY affects the magnitude of the tics and number of occurrences within a time-frame. My tics used to bother me when I was young, but as an adult I've learned to live with them. They are part of who I am. As weird as it may be, I kind of like having something that many of the people I socialize with don't have. I like to share with them that I have tourettes and see what they think. Most always, as I stated earlier, they never even notice. I don't mean for that to offend anyone... I know that many people with tourettes have a difficult life and I'm lucky to have one of the milder cases. I can't understand or explain it really... I guess it makes me feel more unique? Last thing is I remember several of my family members, such as an uncle, and a distant cousin exhibiting tics. My uncle to this very day has a grunting tic sound that is very noticeable and he's had it for as long as I can remember. And my cousin who "rocks" back and forth a lot while sitting. I can't say these are related to tourettes because I do not know... Maybe someone out there has a similar backstory and will find this story interesting.

My son is 18. As a dad I couldn’t be any more proud of who he is.. He has done amazing in school. He is the definition of the word gentleman. His heart is purer that Lancelot. I believe he is the best of humanity. I’m not worried about his future. I know he will do great things in this world. I’m worried about him meeting a nice young lady. Like he will be graduating this year. He is starting to think about girls in a dating way. I can only offer advice. Now, I just need advice. Any help?

I remember Caspar from 2012 youtube and it wasn't until around this video 4 years ago that I actually found out he had TS. I was diagnosed sometime around 2013 so yeah! weird coincidences.

I do the exact.. & to the t.... the same thing as you while I am stretching my arms out. It’s usually both arms I have to do at the same time and it sometimes looks like I’m mocking a bodybuilder or like “look at my beach ball” but it sometimes is painful because it feels so sore
