#GreenYatra Founder Mr. Pradeep Tripathi explaining the difference between #MiyawakiPlantation and #ConventionalPlantation at #NisargUdyan, #NaviMumbai.
Miyawaki plantation is different from conventional plantation in terms of #diversity, #density, #growthrate, #resilience, #soil quality, and #maintenance. Miyawaki plantation is more diverse, denser, faster-growing, more resilient, and enhances soil quality, requiring less maintenance than conventional plantation.
#Diversity: Miyawaki plantation includes multiple layers of #native plant species, resulting in a more diverse and complex #ecosystem, while conventional plantation typically focuses on a single species.
#Density: Miyawaki plantation is much denser than conventional plantation, with more trees planted in a smaller area.
#GrowthRate: Miyawaki plantation grows much faster than conventional plantation, with trees reaching maturity in just a few years instead of several decades.
#Resilience: Miyawaki plantation is more resilient to extreme weather conditions, pests, and diseases than conventional plantation, thanks to its diverse composition.
#SoilQuality: Miyawaki plantation enhances the soil quality by improving water retention, nutrient cycling, and soil structure, while conventional plantation often leads to soil degradation and erosion.
#Maintenance: Miyawaki plantation requires less maintenance than conventional plantation, as it is designed to be self-sustaining once established.
Overall, Miyawaki plantation offers a more #sustainable and efficient way to create #forests and #restore degraded lands compared to conventional plantation.

Hello Sir, I have very important question. Please answer. I want to do White Sandalwood farming. And sandalwood needs host plant to grow. So can I try Sandalwood farming with Miyawaki method??? Would it be successful? Please tell me.

Nobody tried it before. Give it a try on small scale. Though if you use such dense plantation method, chances are it will grow faster for sure but width of the trunk wouldn't be as good as conventional

@@artisikarwar-fj3ui what if other plants covers sandalwood and it dies due to insufficient sunlight?

Failure will not hurt you as much as not trying. Don't ask if and but bro. Give it a try. If you have an acre of land, split it in 4 or 5 parts and try variations. One variation at a time. It might be possible if nothing works at all in first year but it'll worth it

Did you enrich the soil before planting the trees or water?

They dig the entire plot a foot deep and put leaves branches(mulch) and cover with the same dugout soil and leave it for a month before planting to turn that into organic matter

You should look for native species to the region you're going to restore. India is a big country with lots of different environments, so look for the you specific area
