Hi Peter I'm finding out this year how fast they grow. Which types of bannas are you growing. I'm growing the two easy ones to overwinter outside or bring indoors 🌴🌞

@@mattsuktropicalgarden I have way too many to list, last time I counted it was over 20 different types lol. They are incredibly addictive once you start collecting them. I have featured a few on my channel recently. But most of them I keep in pots and only have a few planted in the ground. I have expanded my collection quite a lot this year, so I'm not quite sure how I'm going to manage to store them all inside this winter 😂😂. At least the Musa Basjoo will be fine outside 😁

Hi JB no my musa sikkimensis was dug up and brought into my garage over winter and kept at 5oC. I did that as i know they cant handle the cold. Wish I did that with all my plants this winter.

@@mattsuktropicalgarden thanks for letting me know. I was going to get one an over winter it outside like my musa basjoo but think I'll get another musa basjoo I haven't got a garage getting hardier plants this year lost all my cordylines and some damaged palms. Thank you

I lost alot of plants to. My musa basjoo were taken back to the ground. If you have musa basjoos ain't they sending up new pups yet for you to propagate, won't be any need to buy more especially at the price they are at.

@@mattsuktropicalgarden my musa basjoo is the same hight as last year its already on the third leaf and has 3 pups I saved from last year around the plant I overwintered mine with fleece an a pot over the top even the pups survived the - 10 we had for 2 weeks I would overwinter yours this year. I will be definitely looking after the plants this year wasn't prepared for the damage that happened I havnt tried to separate a pup yet will try it this year once they get bigger I wanted another one but they are expensive.

My musa have grown several pups. Will separate in a few more weeks get a bit more growth, fingers 🤞 the warn weather stays with us.
